Video Studio 2019 Removed Functions. WTF? Please Help

Has anyone else noticed that Corel tells you whats new in the Compare Vesrsions but they don't tell you what they removed. I have been using VideoStudio from day one and it always included and supported swf files. Well not anymore I guess. I have many old vsp files with these files and now I cannot edit them in VS2019. Has anyone else noticed this or other stuff they removed support from earlier versions?

That's the practice in most industries that I'm familiar with - caveat emptor. Most people buy products for what they do and not what they don't do.

Actually, Corel states that VideoStudio 2019 opens SWF Files and even explains how to do so (see https://www.videostudiopro.com/en/pages/swf-file/). Hence if you can't then you should raise this with VS support.

Yea tried that it does not work. I get File type mismatch. Swf files do not even show up unless you specify show all files.

If you check the Samples Folder of VS, you will find that all the video samples are .swf

2019 + SP2 Problem with graphics library
Earlier versions of video studio had a category as Flash Animation within the Graphics Library populated with 40 swf files
Viewing 2019 is now called Animation with 13 mov files, I do not see any swf files.

This does not mean that the program does not support swf, just that the library is faulty and not displaying the correct samples which are available here in the new Contents folder

With some in the old location here…….
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2019\Samples\Video

I have reset the program and reset the library but this did not fix the library display

I know the swf files are there and that there are instructions on how to open them. But When you try to open or load any vsp that contains swf files from previous version it will not load them... and the swf files in the 2019 directory cannot be opened. Also a new discouvery is that alot of vsp files even from the 2018 version that contain mpg files will not play the audio...?

With VS 2019 open, I right click in the timeline and select Insert Video. Then I browse to the VS 2019 Samples\Video folder. I have not previously played with this folder. And I see 5 SWF files (FL-FO1, FL-FO2, FL-FO3, FL-FO4 and FL-FO5). There are other files there with those names, but their extensions are .mov. The SWF files show as blank (white) thumbnails while the the mov ones show the first frame in colour. Yet when I click to Open one of the SWF files, it opens properly in the VS 2019 timeline and plays properly.

I just made an animation folder and dumped all my swf files in there-no problems now.

Sorry for the inconvenience. SWF files will not compatible for VideoStudio.

this is What I get when I try to open one. File type mismatch.....
I tried to include a screenshot but I guess that is not possible.
then why are the in the samples folder.... I don't get it. None of my earlier projects with swf files from Corel will open in vs2019 and trying to get support from corel is like friggen talking to someone who has such a strong accent that they can not even be understood if you talk english.

Auz (Austin) at Corel did a log in session and has confirmed it is not working correctly. He said something about there being a problem with the install procedure for certain systems or circumstances and that the program matrix would need correcting.
