Pixelated playback and rendered files? Help please!

Post by sd6 »

I've dowloaded the trial version of video studio 2019. I used to use video studio a few years back but havn't done any video editing for a while. Thought i'd run the trial version and see if i was happy with it like i was with the older versions but i'm having no luck at all. It doesn't matter what video file type i import they all play back in the editor with glitches, it looks like a dvd skipping all garbled and stuttery. The rendered files also output in the same way and i should also mention that the sample videos included in vs play back with the same fault so its clearly not a file incompatibility issue.

Specs of my system are an i7 4770k, 12gb ram, nvidia gtx 1070, 2 tb hdd and an ssd for the OS, plenty beefy enough to do that job. So far i have tried updating graphics drivers and playing with all settings in the app with no change. Is this part of the trial version by messing with it so bad you can't actually use it? I do intend on buying the full version but not if i can't sort this issue out.

Problem solved with buying the full version. Note to Corel, not a great move on the trial version. If I had not have had experience with earlier versions I probably wouldn't have persisted trying to make it work and would have moved onto another developers software before even trialing the trial version. Your live chat team also failed to pick up on the trial version being the cause and instead directed me to convert my file format from mp4 to mp4 via a 3rd party app... the app is virtually unusable in trial mode.

Hi, I've experience the SAME exact problem. I downloaded the trial version and I'm getting horrible previews on my .mp4 files. I can't even add .mov files. I tried different project settings and turning off/on smart proxy, but it's made no difference. I feel like I like the overall ease of use of adding titles, audio, etc but I just don't feel confident that this program can handle my video files. I contacted Corel Support and their claim was the same as above, that the trial version has some issues with handling certain file types and recommended buying the full version. This is a horrible decision on Corel's part to make a trial version that is not compatible with standard formats and makes the users feel that it's not worth buying the full version.

Same problem here. From my limited use of the trial I like the program but I'm not sure I want to spend money to see if it works properly on the paid version. I'm not in the habit of spending money on something that may not work.
