Best way to compose/conserve project

Post by Shepdog1 »

My project is made up of about 35 photos and video and audio clips. It will take about a week to put it all together on the Timeline. The clips are stored on a flash drive and some are in Documents and on the desktop. Question: what is the best way to organize the project? Keep bringing each clip to the Timeline, then Save As after each session? Or create a special Folder to store all of the parts together and bring that to the Timeline?

I read something a while back about the virtues of the folder approach, but, of course, I can't remember where I saw it.

Thanks for any help!

I put all the sources (photos, videos, audio) in a special folder for each project I create and bring in the items from that folder. Having the sources scattered all over you system may lead to all sorts problems. If you have sources on a USB stick or SD card, then you have to have those devices connected whenever you work on the project

And of course, if you concentrate all your assets in the one area, that's fine. You will be able to work on that one project. But in the meantime, you will still have your originals wherever you stored them. And that is fine too...

I had not used the +Add and Import Media File buttons before - - this is much better than the way I was doing it.
