VideoStudio X8.5 Is it any good at track motion?

Post by jezzer »

My daughter is using track motion to blur out a head she has a video of a group of friends dancing but one of her friends doesn't want her face to be shown, she said it works ok until the person moves her head alot.

EDIT: I see what my daughter means now, I have been playing around with it and the track starts staying in the right place but then goes off track no where near the body, I'm guessing this version is no good for what she wants to do?

Hello,
Hello,
In video studio motion tracking technology helps you to track different objects in running video.
As I can see you are using an older version of video studio, There might be some bugs in that version.
I was doing the same thing in video studio pro x10 and Everything is working perfectly.
I will advise you to upgrade your video studio and check again If the issue still persists You reply again.

Track Motion in X8 works reasonably well but it may have issues when the area being tracked jumps around "a lot". There are limits to what automated tracking can do in such circumstances.

You could try the following approaches and see if one works:

1. Using an overlay track, put an object over her face and then use the Customize Motion to keep the object over her face.
2. Spit the video clip into segments and then use the Track Motion on each segment.
