Video Studio Serial number impasse

Post by Anthony Halley »

I downloaded VS9 last night complete with Professional Themes and Boris.

My problem is that eash time I try to install the themes I get a crash message and I can't find the serial number as nothing comes up under 'Share' where it is supposed to be! This means that I can't register and so can't raise a query" Frustrating!"

I also downloaded Boris and it says it installed but I can't find/access it anywhere - any clues?

(Operating System is Win XP on auto updates from Microsoft so i would like to think it was up to date. System has 5Gig of Ram and 1 Terrabyte of HDD and Gigabyte GV-NX68T256D-B (NVidia) Graphics Accelerator with two Sony 234 23" LCD Screens.)

I also re-downloaded and started all over again - twice! No avail.

Thanks in advance.

You can find the serial number by clicking on the "?" in the upper right corner. This will open a drop down menu. Click on About Ulead Video Studio. Then on the left side under the picture, is the Serial Number.

Don't know about Boris though, I don't use it.

Hope that helps..

I have Boris!!
You find the Boris transitions in the FX transitions tab.
Although you only see "1" transition in the list, as soon as you drag it between clips and select "customize" a new screen appears with all of the available Boris Transitions.

I'm sorry to be a pain but I can't see anything like what is displayed in the scant user docs and certainly can't find anywhere I can select 'customise' All I have in the F/X selections are the Arrows, Blowout, Burn, Crossfade,DiamondsA, Diamonds, Disolve, Fade to Black, Fly, Funnel, Gate,Iris, Lense,Mask,Mosaic,PowerOff, Shatter, Shuufle, Unfold, ZigZag Fade.

The titles in the Boris Factor Library under the folder names (Classics, Cubes,Disolves,PageTurns Particles, Riples & Waves, Slides,Spheres&Cylinders, Splits, Wipes are nowhere to be seen.

I really don't know where to go on this - the files seem to be there but I just can;t get to them - so frustrating ... I wish I could post some screen shots but I can't evidentlydo that within the post.

Do you have more than 1 Ulead product on your computer?
Ie Video Studio 8, MediaPro 7 etc.

If so please read my earlier post here...

No - Just VS 9 - I have MSPro 7 waiting installation but bought a clean copy of both products when I changed machines instead of having to go through the 'upgrade process' when I installed. I'm hoping I won't have the same problem when I go to install it on MSP7 - anyone know if it works with DVD Workshop 2 that I use for authoring?
I still am having an error each time I rry to install Professional Themes - just wants to send an error message to M/soft and exits. Most frustrating as I bought both this and Boris at the same time and it appears to be a waste of money/time!

Thanks sjj1805 and everyone ...!!
