I have been using CVS for years more or less successfully. Now I updated to VS 2019 and edited my first video with it. Nowadays I edit in phases, like one day is one project, the following day the second project and so on. That is because I have experienced many problems before with CVS with longer projects. Anyway, that seems to work fine and it is practical, too. My footage is AVCHD. When the editing is ready, I convert my videos to mpeg2-files (same as project settings). So far so good. The converted files look good. Then I want to combine them to just one video file (“Create video that you can play on a computer”), like one movie. I import the m2t-videos on the time line (+ some mp4 videos) and convert them again as one. Everything seems to go smoothly an surprisingly fast. But what do I get? 80% of the video is pretty ok, but then there are those light flashes regularly (they don’t seem to be connected with anything), and at the end the sync between the image and voice disappears. I tried to burn a DVD of the same footage for friends but “Convert step got some
problems” immediately.
One of the reasons why I nowadays convert everything to m2t-files is that if CVS doesn’t want to convert further then I can open the files in Cyberlinks PowerDVD (which I bought, because Corel VS would not work) and convert my files there. So now I did just that and I have both a DVD for friend and a fine mpg-file for me. I would like to do everything in CVS because it is easy, I know it, I like the way it works (when it works).
Corel support suggests that I should have more RAM. I have now 32 GB, which is the maximum for my laptop.
I there anything I can do?

Re: Problems in converting , CVS 2019
32Gb RAM is more than ample for the work you are doing
I like your workflow but you confused me somewhere along the line ... after you have finished a one day project you convert your project to mpeg2 .. sounds OK but why ? why not save as AVCHD and use those for the final combine but when you want to combine the projects (which are now mpeg2) you put m2t videos in the timeline ?? are these the unedited originals .. do you edit them again
If you want to combine projects then the best way is to insert the .vsp project files into the timeline one after the other and then render that out - OR put the files you rendered for each project in the timeline mpeg2 if that is your choice but AVCHD if you stick with that throughout
