Hello,
I wonder if there's a way to "unlock" the possibility to render audio at 320kbps with MPEG-4?
The program has option only up to 256kbps
Perhaps there's a way to use MPEG-4 settings and leave the audio track untouched without any compression? As my mp3 in the video is already 320kbps and I don't want to force lower it. //I think that compression causes the hissing I was writing about in the previous post. I've tried also with WAV file but it's the same.
I'm a bit clueless.

It was discussed before. There is a way but it's beyond common user interface.

Oh, ok. Thank you. I understand from that post that I should get "xmedia" then? It's quite messy to me and I'm not sure if I get it correctly.asik1 wrote:It was discussed before. There is a way but it's beyond common user interface.

Re: X10 - MPEG-4 and bit rate 320kbps not available?
Using Video Studio – Share there is an option to render using “Same as first Video Clip”
Using that may use the audio from the video file, even though we cannot set as a profile to use 320.
If rendering using Video Studio reverts the audio to 256 and creating the hiss, then is not the damage done and using any video converter to up to 320 is not gonna fix that?
MP3 audio using the Lame codec has caused problems for Video Studio, I do remember years ago having problems with the Lame audio using greater than 192,
Post updated
Another option would be to try using Settings - Movie Profile Manager to create a profile using the video files properties
1 / open Movie Profile Manager
2 / select Format == Mpeg4
3 / Select add and browse for one of your video files.
if the manager does allow you to Add that then do not try to edit the profile, just close the manager
The profile will be available from Share - mpeg4

Re: X10 - MPEG-4 and bit rate 320kbps not available?
Unfortunately, for some reason that option is greyed out, not sure why.lata wrote:“Same as first Video Clip”
The other option doesn't apply much either, since it's the audio track (mp3) that gets hissing in it.
The mp3 is 320 and I think I tried all the possible formats of conversion in the program. The best option that worked was to export the project as AVI, then the audio works fine, but I wondered if there's an option to get it into MPEG-4. It's a bit strange that it works fine when rendered as AVI, but not mp4.. And also it doesn't work converting the mp3 to WAV, what I hoped for.

EDIT
Ohh, I know what you meant with the video profile manager now. Now I just need to find a video with the audio track that's exactly 320 kbps and will test it out =)
EDIT #2
It didn't work. The audio in the video is still having that "metallic sound in the background". I just don't get it.. The mp3 in itself is clren, really sharp, but VS has problems to render it for some reason.

Strange --- What do you mean by find a video that uses 320 kbps,Parotia wrote:

Can you confirm that all your original video files are using 320 kbps, i assumed they were recorded using a camera?
If they are downloaded or converted to 320kbps then that conversion could be causing the issue.
and if they have been re-coded to 320 what are the properties of the original video files.
Or are you able to record the footage using another audio format other than MP3.

I just did a test, taking one of my mts's and convert it in XMedia Recode into mp4 with 320mp3
VS2018 likes it

are you able to render using 2018 using 320 kbps audio?

well, not with your guidelineslata wrote:are you able to render using 2018 using 320 kbps audio?

I saved the profile but I don't see it in share.
and that mp4 wont pop msg when inserted to timeline... all mp4's I tried do not pop msg. mts's do.

Re: X10 - MPEG-4 and bit rate 320kbps not available?
I meant to apply your trick I needed a video that has in it an audio track with mp3 at 320kbps to create that profile in VS. I managed, but it didn't change anything.lata wrote:Strange --- What do you mean by find a video that uses 320 kbps,

I can confirm, but I'm not using any audio from my clips, they are in fact all muted except for one, it's the music track that I insert to the project that doesn't get rendered correctly when using MPEG-4
The audio track is mp3 at 320kbps, but gets completely ruined while exporting the project (metallic sound appears and a lot of cracks as if the audio was recorded with cheap mic even though the audio file is crisp mp3 with 320kbps with profesionally recorded music)Not really, I installed both 2019 and x9 to see if it makes any difference, but it's still the same.. I think there's even lower bit rate in those two, like 192 or solata wrote:are you able to render using 2018 using 320 kbps audio?
The only way the audio works correctly is when I render the project as AVI or even XAVC S, but AVI is not the format I want to get and the latter is quite big, so I'm trying to get a simple mp4 with H.264, but yeah.. It's terrible.
