I have a 18 minute long VSP what has clips in the voice track. The problem is that when I render it, the audio clips are shifted right in the MP4 output (see following image).
Has anyone else experienced this and found a way to address it?

One important thing you haven't told us is which version of VS you are using for this project. I imagine it is VS 2019, but it would be handy if you could confirm this. And if it is, have you applied SP2... (I can't help but get the feeling that this has something to do with the dread gap introduced in VS 2019...and its effect on ripple editing.)

Re: Clips on Voice track shifted right
Apologies - it's VS2018 which has difficulties rendering at times, i.e. silent crashes. I've tried rendering both with and without acceleration/optimization but that doesn't change the shifting in the location of the audio clips on the rendered MP4.Ken Berry wrote:you haven't told us is which version of VS you are using for this project
The curious thing is that if I only render the last 1 minute of the VSP where the audio clips in question are located, then they are in the correct location on the rendered MP4. However, if I render the entire 18 minutes of the VSP then the audio clips in question are displaced 4 seconds to the right.

Re: Clips on Voice track shifted right
What audio remains on the 4 sec space where the original soundclip was?

And had you activated ripple editing before trying to render?

Re: Clips on Voice track shifted right
What is the reason for the “Audio spacer muted wav” as on the timeline it does not appear to be muted.
Ignoring its name does that clip play with sound?

Re: Clips on Voice track shifted right
The quick fix was to shift the audio files to the left on the voice track then they were rendered where in the positions where they ought to be in the MP4 output. For some reason, VS2018 doesn't always render audio clips in sync with the video track as they appear on the timeline in the VSP. Rendering in VS is frequently an adventure
