VSP files from earlier versions of Videstudio

Post by razorbackjones »

Everytime I import vsp files from earlier versions of videostudio X2 -X5 into videostudio 19 64bit they crash after a few seconds of playing. Anyone know of way to stop this from happening?

Hi razorbackjones
And welcome to the forums
Sorry you are experiencing these problems, I have also had a few issues when opening projects made with earlier versions

But first you should make sure that the projects do open without problems using the earlier versions of Video Studio.

And you should report this problem to Corel Support to make sure they are aware of any problems

As a workround
One thing I tried which seemed to work was to use the nesting options
1 / create a new library folder
2 / start a new project and set your Project Properties to same as your VSP settings
3 / insert your VSP to the library,
4 / drag the VSP from the library to the timelines, should open to show your clips, (you must use Drag and Drop)
4 / Now save the project, maybe adding 2019 to the name.

Obviously I cannot guarantee that this will work as the content of the project will have a bearing on it being successful.

razorbackjones -- you also need to clarify exactly which version of VS you are currently using. You say 'videostudio 19'. But there was no version which actually used the figure '19'. There was version X9 (Roman X for 10, plus 9 = 19) or VS 2019 (based on the year it was released but in reality version 22).
