PaintShop Pro 2018 - Mapping

Post by Gunslinger »

The mapping function seems to be broken again - presumably because Google have changed their API. Are there plans for a patch - 2018 is still listed as 'supported' on the Corel website?
(Oops something went wrong. This page didn't load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details).

Whoops - Header should be 'Paintshop Pro' - Freudian slip?

If you still have ptoblems, take a look at GeoSetter:
https://www.geosetter.de/en/main-en/
It also sometimes has silly messages from Google about their maps but still works and is a much better product than PSP for geotagging.

Thanks. I also use Picmeta 'Picture Information Extractor' which is very similar to the product you have linked, and whose geo mapping function (which also uses Google Maps) is still working, presumably because it is regularly updated by the vendor. However it is useful to work without continually dodging between products, and it is annoying when features stop working. Other photo management packages (Adobe, Nero) seem to have moved away from Google to other map providers, perhaps this is the way to go for Corel?

Geosetter has problems sometimes too; it seems to be fairly random but may have something to do with the volume of traffic to Google maps from it in a particular time frame ie the amount of access may have a daily limit. This may also be true for Corel.
