Fade Out An Overlay?

Post by jimswinder »

Scenario:

I have a video in the Video Track (Main Wedding Video)
Also A video in the Overlay Track (Slideshow of old pictures of the couple getting married)

I am superimposing the slideshow over the wedding video (as it was shown during the wedding)...
But at the end, I want to fade out the slideshow so just the main wedding video is showing...

Is there a way to fade the overlay to a transparent background so just the Video Track shows?
Or is there another way?

So why don't you put a crossfade (or any transition) at the end of the slideshow?

If there is nothing in the overlay track then it is already transparent, just do as asik says and put a transition on the end of the clip in the overlay track depending on what sort of fade you want, a crossfade will give you a normal sort of fade but others can be quite interesting, then set it to any length you feel is correct for your show
