Alright, here's the deal. If I do a "long" video it'll start stutter up to a complete freeze but the audio still play great.
I thought of rendering it in 2 video part which worked well but once I wanted to put them back together for the complete video it's the same thing. After maybe 15 mins the video will start stuttering and will end up freezing and the audio is still playing nicely. I use the hardware acceleration.
The original video file is a mere 1080p format, 24 fps same as project properties and rendering properties. I've never done 15 mins+ videos in the past, I think my longest was just about that and never had any issues. Beside, I was playing with 4k stuff. So I don't see why now it would do that with only 1080P files.
Tried restarting computer, shutting down anything that would suck up memory. Only have 8gb of ram, maybe it's an issue?
Rendering properties (as the project) is
24bits, 1080p, 24fps
H.264,10000 kbps bitrate
Mpeg aac audio, 256kbps

Re: VS2018 15min+ video issue
Are you talking about the rendered video? I've made some long videos, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRRy6t5K3R4, and not seen this issue.Slapierre wrote:If I do a "long" video it'll start stutter up to a complete freeze but the audio still play great.
Your system description includes a "processor: 3.80 AMD" and "Hard_Drive_Capacity: Saint Raym" - no idea what these are. In any event you can check your setup against the following VideoStudio 2018 System requirements:Slapierre wrote:Only have 8gb of ram, maybe it's an issue?
• Internet connection required for installation, registration and updates.
• Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, 64-bit OS highly recommended
• Intel Core i3 or AMD A4 3.0 GHz or higher
• Intel Core i5 or i7 1.06 GHz or higher required for AVCHD & Intel Quick Sync Video support
• Intel Core i7 or AMD Athlon A10 or higher for UHD, Multi-Camera or 360° video
• 4 GB of RAM or higher, 8+GB highly recommended for UHD, Multi-Camera, or 360°video
• Minimum 256 MB VRAM, 512 MB or higher recommended for hardware decoding acceleration
• HEVC (H.265) support requires Windows 10, supporting PC hardware or graphics card and Microsoft HEVC video extension installed
• Program available for installation in 32 or 64-bit. Some features only available in 64-bit (3D Title Editor, NewBlue Titler Pro, Boris Title Studio)
• Minimum display resolution: 1024 x 768
• Windows-compatible sound card
• Minimum 8 GB HDD space for full installation

Must have auto filled some of the field when I joined. I corrected that. As for the minimum requirement, I'm pretty much over everything.
I don't know what is going on, I'll keep digging into it.

Try deselecting the File Creation and Performance Optimization options as shown in the following image before rendering as well disable Smart Proxy. VS 2018 has rendering issues with these enabled. tletterSlapierre wrote:I use the hardware acceleration.

One thing is not clear to me. Is the stuttering only while you are test playing the project before rendering. Or is it stuttering in the final rendered video?Slapierre wrote:After maybe 15 mins the video will start stuttering and will end up freezing and the audio is still playing nicely.

Re: VS2018 15min+ video issue
It's stuttering on the rendered file. The project plays fine. I did check every selected Hardware Decoder Acceleration since I though My GTX1060 would have helped. Seems like it would be the problem after all. I'm currently rendering, will try right after that.

Re: VS2018 15min+ video issue
I had similar problems several years ago on VS X7. Usually I could find the clip which created a problem. In most of the cases I just moved the edit point ( shorted the clip) and it fixed the problem. My videos are almost always longer than 40-50 minutes.

Re: VS2018 15min+ video issue
Problem solved, seems like VLC wanted to mess with me. No idea why it does that but I just played the rendered file with windows media player and it worked just fine.. Wish I clutched faster, would have wasted less time lol.
Thanks y'all for the feedback ! Much appreciated

This is typical in digital world.....
I also check my videos on two TV sets not only on computer as every device can deliver different results.
