Illegal Operation

I am trying to install VideoStudio 8 on a Windows 98 machine.
The machine has 256mb ram, a pentium 1000 cpu.

When I start Vidoe studio it comes up and says that the program has caused an illegal operation and will shut down.

I have installed directx 9 but it still does not work. Can anyone help.

Have you tried a clean reinstall of your VS8?
