I am redoing my project in VS2019 while Corel support tries to fix my other problem.
I have an array of pictures that I am doing in VS, I have them all in the library. Once and a while I miss one or need to put a new one in the middle or somewhere. I try to drag it from the library into the story line, when I do I get a circle with a line through it (which says basically you cannot do that) What I end up doing is dragging the two pictures apart and sliding it in between, but that seems to mess up the transition and I have to readjust the timing.
If I recall I should be able to drag the picture over one I want to put in between and it would drop, the others would slide over? Which is not happening?
I am wondering if something is in a locked position? I can place them on the end with no problem, but trying to edit one in between seems a problem.
Thanks Bruce
It also will not let me take the last picture and move it further in, nor move some around with putting a space where I took one out?

Hi
Corel are aware of problems regarding gap editing and are working on a fix, sooooon
You can install 2018 and 2019 on the same pc although only run one at a time
I would suggest you do that until Corel provide the next 2019 Service Pack.
As far as I know 2018 was working well after the last Service Pack 4.
You should use 2019 to save the project as backward compatibility, then you can open the VSP using 2018
File – Save As – Save as File Type set to 2018

Re: VS2019 won't let me drag pictures into project line
Thanks problem is that Corel support had me uninstall x10 and 2018 saying that "I should not have more than one version" although I have never had a problem with two (or three) versions on the same computer. I guess I should of finished it in 2018 before hand. I am uploading a smart package to them now, but had to do it on the cloud because of the size. So I had to go and restart the project over, the worst part now is that after I completed it and open the file I was having trouble with it ask me after it crashes if I want to recover it. Unfortunately it did not do that the first several times it crashed. I am sending it to see where the problem lies. I could not let the special price pass me by, usually I wait 6 months or so before I go with a new version.
Also on the editing if Corel is not aware that it is possible to slide a picture into the gap but it adds to the transition effect timing, I put it on the overlay track and bring it up.
Thanks Bruce

Re: VS2019 won't let me drag pictures into project line
Just be careful when "saving as" a 2018 vsp from 2019. Whenever I tried that, it seemed to save OK, but opening the project in 2018 crashed 2018 immediately.
It's just a mess. if you can, avoid using 2019 until the first, and maybe even the 2nd service packs are released. It took Corel 4 service packs and all year to smarten up 2018, and there are still major bugs outstanding in it that are also present in 2019.
Update
The software was released at service pack 1 level. So my remarks about service packs should be read as meaning one or two service packs from now - SP2 and SP3. . .

Re: VS2019 won't let me drag pictures into project line
I usually do, but the price the offered "was too good to be true" and after talking to tech support they had me uninstall x10 and 2018, 2019 and reinstall. I should of known better. I did after some playing around find a work around on importing pictures. I import them into the overlay track then drag them into the library then into the video track. It kind of works, but it takes work to put one in the middle, I have to drag part of the project down the line, put it in then drag it back. I find the transitions are sticking sometimes to them. My alternative is uninstalling then reinstalling 2018. I have too much of a headache right now lol Hard to believe they did not run into these problems before putting it out. They say you "live and learn" I have not yet lol
