hi,
i use PSP 2018 on win7 x64.
Each time i open a image, it's positionning at the left in the workspace.
At my desk, i'm sitting in front of my wide screen, i'm centered myself ! so i wish to not turn left my head (or move the picture to the center each time) !
is there any option to display it in the center of the workspace ?
best regards
how to center a opened file in the workspace ?

If you use the tabbed interface then the image is always centered. But windowed, I don't think so.

True, but you forgot to tell OP where to start viewing images in Tab mode. Go to Window > Tabbed Documents to invoke the feature.LeviFiction wrote:If you use the tabbed interface then the image is always centered. But windowed, I don't think so.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

i already tried it but it is not a good solution .LeviFiction wrote:If you use the tabbed interface then the image is always centered. But windowed, I don't think so.
when you work on 2 pictures, the tab are not open side-by-side, you need to click and re-click to switch and view both image in the same time, and 3 images is a hell to work with tabed mod.
The feature which is missing is an auto-adaptative-choice of the mode.
opening one picture --> auto to tabbed mode
opening two pictures or 3 which can fit the screen --> auto to window-mode but they must be in-line side-by-side
opening many pictures which can fit the lenght of the workspace/screen ,then auto to tabbed mode
in fact, when you open 1 photo, the "tile verticaly" feature does the job but is not auto, you need to run it yourself (moreover i don't know why but the window fit the screen with useless blank space whereas it should not do that and only center the windows).

Re: how to center a opened file in the workspace ?
The tile routines should auto turn off tabbed mode. Doesn't really help of course. I never use windowed mode.
Scripts cannot control the various Windows. But can call commands. How do you usually open a new image? If you use the open command itself then a script could be created that used the open command, and then auto tiled or maximized the image depending how many images were opened. But that is probably the best I could offer. PSP will not do any of this automatically.

i use window mode since 25years of photo editor, i only use tabbed interface into text editor.LeviFiction wrote:I never use windowed mode.
i always open a picture from out of PSP; by this i mean i am in my windows explorer, i select the files and use "open with" or "send to ..PSP" contextual menu. Si i guess windows transcode this by a script to run the .ex and adding it the files in parameter....LeviFiction wrote: Scripts cannot control the various Windows. But can call commands. i only open PSP first when i create a new picture from blank.
