VS2019 Crashing?

Post by brucefl »

I installed VS2019 and opened a fairly new VS2018 file, after about 10 seconds the program crashes without any explanation. When Opened in VS2018 it plays fine? I did email tech support and I am waiting for them to get back.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

Thanks Bruce

I guess I should put on the wish list when installing a new version that it scan and pick up previous projects. It can get frustrating to have to go back and piece things together.

Was the "fairly new VS2018 file" a vsp project file or video file? (I suspect the former though it would be useful if you could confirm.)

What does "scan and pick up previous projects" mean? A newer version of VS can open most VSPs created by several previous versions. So why do you "have to go back and piece things together"?

That's the main reason I wanted to know if he was talking about a vsp or a video file...

First it is a VSP file that I have been working on. It seems for some reason I always have to relink files from previous versions. I can open any previous version, usually the pictures are not there. Also tech support has asked for all my msinfo32 and some other stuff. Thanks

That sounds as though the files are no longer stored where they were when you first started that earlier project. So VS naturally asks you to relink them.
