Hello Folks.
I have a Video-clip with seperate Audio track.
I want to accelerate a part of the Video clip (Speed/Time-Lapse-Option), but them I'm loosing sync to the Audio.
Question:
Is there a way to use the Speed/Time-Lapse-Option in a way that it also "TimeLapses" the Audio-Track?
If not: What would be a useful workflow for this purpose?

If you shorten the videoclip ( Shift+R button on mouse) to the new length ( white arrow appears on the track). Let us say from 10 sec to 5. After that you can do the same on audiotrack(s).
An another method. Select the speed change to 50% (etc). and do the same on the audio track.
Of course the video and audio tracks in the beginning should have the same length. If not, cut the corresponding synchronized section on both tracks and change the speed after that.

Strange Shift and R button does nothing at all for me , BUT if you just change the length of the video by sliding the end of the clip in the timeline the whole video will be much faster, twice as fast if you go from 10 secs to 5
the only way to shorten a video without changing it's speed is to physically cut it
and changing the speed of the audio track will also change the pitch of the audio

You could render those clips to one video file then apply Speed Timelapse.
Use the Preview Range to set the duration to render.
Out of interest how did you come to have separate clips? Video and Audio

Re: VS2018 Speed/TimeLapse for Video with separate Audio tra
Thank you for your help, guys!
In the current case the two tracks are a result from using the Multi Camera Editor.
The most important question for me at this point:
If I increase the speed to a cut part of my audio track, and this becomes then shorter in the track timewise: What is the most efficient way to make the remaining audio track (right from it) move to the left accordingly? Very important, if several audio pieces follow the one with the increased speed...
This does work to a point, but when (part of) the Audio track is shortened, then the rest won't "stick" to it, meaning moving to the left with it. With only one long Audio track after such a "time-lapse", this would be OK, but once there are selveral audio pieces, which need to be moved individually, then it becomes impossible.Select the speed change to 50% (etc). and do the same on the audio track.
Correct. That's (part of) what I want to do: Change the sppeed of the Video to let's say 4x, and the audio on a seperate track accordingly.the only way to shorten a video without changing it's speed is to physically cut it
Correct. And in my case that's fine, because the Audio volume will be set to a low volume during the increased spped period.changing the speed of the audio track will also change the pitch of the audio
Yes. This could be a workaround, even though if makes further modifications to the same clip cumbersome. As a project progresses, there are new ideas arisingYou could render those clips to one video file then apply Speed Timelapse.
Most of the time I record Audio seperate - with that I have a consistent quality, no matter what video device is used.Out of interest how did you come to have separate clips? Video and Audio

You wanted to change the speed of your clips, did you?

You are doing something very strange. I regularly record small theater performances with 6-10 actors - each with his own mic and usually with 3 cameras with a single cameraman. i record also the sound from the main sound console and I never had such problems like you. ( even without a multicamera feature of VS).
You just have to work out in advance the whole editing process and than keep on it. I never had a lip sync problem.
I place the 3 videostreams into the VS 3 video tracks and the audio signal into the audiotrack. On the beginning I always have a clapboard to get the sync point. I adjust all 4 tracks to this point, lock them and than I can edit or cut any of the videotracks and the lip sync remains correct until the end of the video. In case of cuts do not forget to cut all tracks simultaneously.
