VS2019 Importing folder or dragging it in?

Post by brucefl »

Hi,

Just installed VS2019 maybe I should up done the upgrade version, but could not pass the price they offered. I was wondering if there is a way to import a folder.
Under edit you have listed Samples- Score Filters - Triple Scoop music. I had added a folder that I was doing the project on. Is it possible to import that or drag the whole
folder into that spot? Instead of having to make a new folder, rename it and then put the all the files in that particular folder?
I probably do things in an awkward way, when trying to figure easier ways it seems I usually make it a little more complicated lol
Thanks for the assistance or suggestions,
Bruce

you can import multiple files in Videostudio, you have to create the library folder and give it a name . then open that folder click on the import icon then browse to the folder containing your clips and use the standard Windows multi-select option of clicking the first then shift+click the last

it is not possible to just drag (or import - another name for the same thing) Windows folders direct into Videostudio and expect a new folder to be created automatically

Hi Bruce
Are you asking if you can move a library folder from an earlier version of Video Studio to 2019
Yes but you have to move all folders.

Export / Import Libraries
Open the earlier version, Settings Library Manager Export Library, choose a suitable location for the files.
Open 2019 Settings Library Manager – Import Library – browse for the folder created above.
The old library will be added to the existing library in 2019

so if I were to do this, it would overwrite all the files and folders in the newer library? In essence it would over write
something new.
It would probably be easier to make a new folder and transfer the same files from the older version
into the folder in the new version?
Thanks Bruce

If you are worried you can export 2019 library as a backup

From my experience the imported library is added to the new library and not replacing it, as my original reply
