Major problem with videostudio X10

Post by Driyko »

Hello all, I’m new to these forums and I really need some help. I have been trying to create a video of myself playing a game. I used OBS to record the gameplay, but foolishly allowed it to record in flv format (which videostudio doesn’t support). I used wondershare to convert my clips to mp4 and checked that they all play normally in windows media player. I imported a clip into corel videostudio X10 and began editing, only to find that the clips only show video stream in clip mode when played individually. If I play them in project mode, all I see is a still image instead of video, but the audio stream still plays. I would really appreciate any help with this. I’ve been working hard on this video and feel so disappointed about this. Videostudio has always worked perfectly for me before, so I don’t know what to do. Many thanks in advance for your help.

We can not help you much if your mp4's are wrong.
What properties are they?

Hi asik, I’m not sure what you mean by my mp4’s not being right. What properties should I list? They are in 1280x720 resolution with 30 fps

Your profile doesn't include any info on your computer which may be underpowered. In any event, try enabling Smart Proxy Files and ensure that all clips have a proxy file created and see if that makes a difference.

I had a similar difficulty and came to an unusual and unexpected solution, maybe some portion of "THIS" will be helpful?

Maybe you can fill out your computer system information, more than W10 + 64-bit, in the -----> "User Control Panel ----> Profile" area???

Good Luck!

Hi tletter, thanks for your suggestion, I’ve updated my profile with my
Pc specs. I have been able to play and record VR games without any lag or issues so I don’t believe my pc is the limiting factor.

Have you tried using SmartProxy? That makes a standard definition copy ("proxy") of your high def originals. These will play back smoothly and be editable, and when you are satisfied, the edits are applied to the high def originals.
