Hello & thanks in advance for any help. Months ago, after spending much time, I was able to accomplish my task but did not take notes on how I did it. Have spent >30 minutes with Google and PSP help site. Running PSP X9.
Please see attached image fragment. I want to replace the shutters with plain clapboard. To do this I believe I need a selection box in shape of parallelogram, to accommodate the perspective of the photo. It seems I can rotate the selection by trial & error (Free Rotate), but that's not what I need.
I can draw a rectangle and rotate it, but can a rectangle somehow become a selection?
Or is there a "third way"?
I appreciate the help from this community.

Re: Want to rotate selection BOX, not selection
If you're talking about a vector rectangle then yes, that can be turned into a selection. Simply go to the Selections menu and select From Vector Object. However, the vector object must be filled in. It will only use the visible areas of the vector to create the selection.
You can also use the free hand selection tool set to point-to-point mode. This will let you simply click on the four corners of the shutter to create the appropriate rectangle. Just double click to end the selection. I think this is your easiest option rather than creating a rectangle and rotating it.
If, however, you truly want to rotate an active selection. Then you nee to go into Edit Selection mode. In Edit Selection mode the selection is represented by a ruby-lithe (transparent red color) to indicate the selection and it can be edited like a regular layer. Grab the pick tool, and rotate it. When you exit Edit Selection mode the selection will match your edits.
1) Make your selection
2) Selections -> Edit Selection
3) Pick Tool
4) Rotate the red rectangle
5) Selections -> Edit Selection

Thank you LeviFiction and Jean-Luc for your suggestions. You can tell I have little knowledge of the power and tools in PSP. I very much appreciate that you shared your experienced advice.
