The help desk has tried to help me with this problem.
Their basic philosophy is that there is a problem with my system and not the new 2019 program.
At their request I have deleted all temporary files.
Uninstalled every old version and 2019. The latter at least 5 times.
I have run the Clean up apps for all versions from 9.
I have supplied audit and system state reports.
If I receive another uninstall/reinstall request I will probable implode.
I notice that my available memory is just less than 10% of the notional 4 Gb but Task Manager says I have 64% and Windows says I have no memory issues. Only mention this because my gut feeling was that the problems were due to a memory issue, but that looks doubtful.
Like you, I hope Corel gets this sorted soon

Re: VS 2019 Ultimate Crashes when using scrubber on timeline
Hi Peter
And welcome to the forums
I do not have this problem when scrubbing the timelines
Just to rule out the content of your project / timelines can you create a new project using the Media Library Samples video and images
If you scrub the timeline does it crash the program.
If that is ok can you give details of your projects content, your video files and their properties
Right click a clip and choose properties, what are they?

Re: VS 2019 Ultimate Crashes when using scrubber on timeline
Thanks Trevor
I did raise 2 new movies. 1 from the samples and I kept extending it to 16 minutes. Neither of them crashed.
I re-assembled the scraps of a project that had crashed repeatedly and now it does not crash.
So I wish I could sign off and say all fixed except that the space in the timeline left by a deletion won't close.
Thanks again.

Hi
I assume you have tried right clicking the gap for Remove Gap / all

Re: VS 2019 Ultimate Crashes when using scrubber on timeline
[/attachment] I assume that is new as I had never see it before. Close Gap worked very well.
Then I did a lot of editing of small video clips and the new colour controls are great.
Then it crashed and whilst I had meticulously saved work not even the name of the new backup was accessible.
Then the Strange Things Dept. opened and the Time Line Video went blank but the preview continued previewing. Then the previewing stopped until a title was reached.
I next discovered that the Time Line Video when blank may or may not have a border. With a border right clicking does not access Close Gap.
I had a short experience of the brilliance of the new program but then the platform went unstable.
Screen prints attached.
Thanks again.

Re: VS 2019 Ultimate Crashes when using scrubber on timeline
Hi Peter
Corel are aware of problems associated with gap editing and are working on a fix, hopefully soon.
I have not heard of any issues with the Colour correction.
You will be best to report this to Corel Support
If you can replicate the problem using the libraries samples.
Save the project, rename the VSP to use .txt extension and attach to your post
Attaching VSP will not work?
We can then open the vsp and re-link to the files to test.

Re: VS 2019 Ultimate Crashes when using scrubber on timeline
Hi Trevor
I thought the new colour controls were excellent and strangely I did not link them to my later problems. I really don't know.
The Help Desk is going to ring me for some direct help so I will see how that goes before I contact you again.
Your scheme to get a short movie to you based on Samples is really clever I think.
Thanks
Peter

Re: VS 2019 Ultimate Crashes when using scrubber on timeline
I have a student who is reporting that a very similar effect is apparent in 2018 Ultimate sp4, and has been evident in 2018 ever since he acquired 2019 as an upgrade special recently.
Specifically,
- a movie clip in the timeline
- timeline time marker positioned approx mid-clip
- scrubbing the timeline marker right (click on the marker and drag) - works OK.
- scrubbing the timeline marker left - crashes 2018 immediately.
Repeatable, to the point of driving student to distraction, and interfering with his ability to complete classwork.
I've tried this on my class laptop (which has X9, X10, 2018 and 2019 installed), using 2018 sp4, and not been able to replicate it. Student is asking for help, and wondering if a re-installation of the sp4 package may help.
Any suggestions?
