I know this should be simple, but I'm just not having luck finding how, nor any YouTube vids on it.
I see scrolling text , multiple lines up the screen, as a text titles to choose. I don't see one for scrolling a lingle line across the bottom of the video.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: How simply scroll a line of text from right to left
easy peasy.
- Open the vsp, and locate the image you want text to scroll across.
- In the text track below it, select the text T in the library tool bar, and double click in the preview image. When the text box appears, type the text you want to appear.
- double click the text in the track and it appears in the preview window with sizing handles around it. Click n drag the box to position it on the image, and since you want it to move right to left - at the right hand end of the image
- in the edit pane of the options box, choose the font type, size, colour and slope you want.
- click on the attribute pane tab, and see animation information. click on the animation button, and tick the apply box. From the list, choose 'fly'.
- from the small thumbnails presented select one that matches your choice of movement - suggest the 2nd row, RH end: click that one.
- adjacent to the apply list box, there is a double-T icon called (hover the mouse over it) customise animation attributes. Select it and a fly animation panel opens.
- You can fly each character, each word etc from the start, and get to the end. Select the start list in this panel, and choose text at the bottom of the list. Repeat for the end list. For pause (you can choose to have a pasue in the movement, or not if a continuous flow is desired), click on 'no pause'.
- To the right of the lists, there are diagrams of how you want the start and end to be, 9 options for each. You can choose to enter from top right, and exit bottom left, or any variation of the 9 for each case. Choose (click on the arrows) enter middle right, and exit middle left.
- Done. Click OK.
Now go back to the TL clip which will have moving text on it, select the project mode, and play it. Your text should now fly from right to left as the clip plays. To speed it up, select the title in the text track, and shorten it. To make it play longer, select title in the track and lengthen it
All sorts of variations for text movement there, but this gives the basics.

You could simply use the customize motion option on the text in question.56_kruiser wrote:I don't see one for scrolling a lingle line across the bottom of the video.

Re: How simply scroll a line of text from right to left
Thanks folks.
I had tried to figure out using customize motion. But by applying to one of the templates. I couldn't figure that out.
This is the first time I've used that method to enter text.
I have yet to try the last two suggestions, but I will play with that too to expand my learning quest.
It's actually quite a few steps, and I would never have figured this out myself.
Thanks again!

Dont go "customize motion" way, it's not the right tool for text.
