VS2019 MultiCam Capture issue

Post by RobCom »

I upgraded to 2019 and am trying to create a multicam video, BUT MCCL seems to not want to save any of the captured video.

I have a Logitech 922x HD camera and a Creative webcam and they all show up fine along with my desktop, when I record everything seems to go well BUT when I stop recording all I get is this: (see attachment Cap1) message "Generating Video Files" for hours...

Problem: MCCL never saves the recording, not even partially.

I have tried just the 922x and the desktop, still will not generate video.

Add this to a mouse/lockup every time I try to use the timeline to edit my videos and this program/upgrade sucks....

I can use the Logitech software to do a multi capture/stream BUT, I want an all in one solution and I want to use MultiCam Capture.

Anyone else having this issue? If not It could be my install...

I wish I could help but I can't get past the Performance Check screen. Its stuck half way and I have to control-alt-delete to get out.

Thanks for that link David, I will check that out again, but MC Capture is now working.

However I have an update, I contacted Corel Support, which got right back to me, and they had me try a few things, clean out temp files etc. When we didn't get a solution the tech forwarded up the tech support chain a week or so ago.

Then tonight they got back to me and I'm happy to report that my issue was solved.

Tech support sent me a link to download another version of MultiCam, then had me uninstall the original version I got with VS2019 and reinstall the new version. And Now it works, and works pretty good actually. The recordings and audio are pretty darn good from multiple sources!! The files are a bit large, but it generates and saves them very quickly. And now I can edit each file individually, which is exactly what I wanted.

Problem Solved. Very Happy!!

PS: Yikes Jimmy, I hope you get that sorted out. Contact support, there is a guy there Venkat that is very friendly and will take care of you.

There's a difference between MultiCam Capture Lite (MCCL), which is the version supplied with 2019 as the screen capture program (in lieu of the prior Live Screen Capture (LSC) that came with 2018 and all prior versions for years), and the full MultiCam Capture program, a paid for upgrade available from Corel.

Which one do you now have that is working?

I too am having the same issues with the full version upgrade that I purchased. The full program will NOT save any files what-so-ever nor does it complete the "auto-detect" in the full version! I have contacted Corel support with no joy. They keep sending me through a tireless email loop wanting me to do this, do that, etc...I am computer expert by trade so please understand my systems run at the peak of performance always.

I cannot believe I have so many issues with the new updates in Pinnacle Studio 22 Ultimate as well as the full version of MultiCam. The MultiCam Lite works perfectly, but, I am upset by purchasing the full version upgrade, Corel has dropped the ball. Especially after calling them and getting nowhere with that route either.

If anyone has the link to the "different" version of MultiCam (full not lite) from Corel please let me know. I have wasted several hours recording needed webinars for Clients only to learn THE FILES DID NOT SAVE!!!! I cannot tell you how embarrassed I was having go to my Clients and explain the situation.

Needless to say, if Corel cannot resolve this or with the help of this forum, the program will be permanently deleted.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Handy to know that the full version of MCC has issues too, but this isn't the user forum for bitching about Pinnacle 22. For that, try here

Thank you for the quick response.

I should have established that I do not use a webcam and only record the screen(s). I have a 3 monitor setup (27inch 4K LG's) and I mentioned before, the MultiCam Lite works perfectly. I only found that out a few days ago when testing the full version in comparison to the Lite version.

The full version hangs on auto detecting my system...just sits there...waiting waiting waiting...I then have to close the auto detect thinking the software would work properly. I was wrong.

When I started the auto detect in the Lite version....boom....recording no issues and the files get saved. And I can save in 4k. There is something wrong with the auto detect piece of the full version and I cannot get that piece to function properly thereby attempting to save any files is impossible.

So, I will ask again...does anyone have a working version of MultiCam Full from Corel?

Personally I do not have the full version and do not know what benefits the full version brings, nor do I know of anyone else besides you that is using the full version.
I do not know of anyone that can replicate or confirm your findings

If the Lite version worked properly for you why bother purchasing the full version?

If you feel you have a corrupt download of the full version you should download again, if the download period has expired you should Contact Corel support they should be able to help with a new link.

Actually I'm using the full version. Works great.

Maybe it is a bad download or a bad install, I uninstalled the lite version and then installed the full version, I didn't install over the top of the lite.

Sorry I can't be of more help, you could contact Corel support though, they helped me, very friendly and responsive.

best of luck.

VS2019 Multicam Capture full and lite issues. Performance check freezes and generating video files screen plays for hours and never generates any video. General single full screen video capture.

I owned full Multicam Capture that came free with VS 2019 ultimate but it only installed lite version that failed to work, popup had me upgrade to full version I already owned and new upgrade with help from support finally installed but failed to work.

Hoping this gets sorted soon!

Puzzlement. The VS ultimate version of 2019 comes with Multicam lite. That's the icon on the screen. If you started that, apart from the monstrosity not working - there's a panel at the bottom RH of screen that offers an upgrade - to the full version at a cost. But - IMHO - why buy a full version when the lite one is so damn <fill in expletive>!!

Corel advertised free copy of Multicam with purchase of some Ultimate packages, was this not the full version? I also purchased upgrade. Weeks ago Corel updated my support request to a known bug issue and I have not heard back. What is the latest news?
