Problems with an upgrade from 2018 to 2019 version

Post by vikscene »

Hey, guys. I am wondering if you could help.

Just upgraded VideoStudio Ultimate to 2019 version (VideoStudio 2018 Ultimate version is still on my PC anyways).
Install went ok, no problems there, however when I opened it and went to "FX" panel - I found that there is nothing there, it's just empty! No filters found.
All other stuff is ok, I mean everything works just fine, but there are no filters!

How could this possibly happen? Any suggestions what should I do?

P.S. I backed up my install catalog as it was suggested by a setup app.

Hi
and welcome to the forums
Seems strange / unusual that you have lost all filters when selecting the FX library category.

Can you first try resetting the program by re-naming the 21.0 folder to 21.0_old
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\21.0
When running VS a new 21.0 folder will be created

Further info here.

If that does not help then try re-installing the program
Use the Cleanup Tool to uninstall

Hi and thanks for help! Tried it but still the same.

Do you know if there are any clean-up tools for 2019? Cause I have one for 2018.

My 2018 is working perfectly fine, so no need to uninstall it.

Hey. Uninstalled 2018 and 2019 version with a clean-up tool. Reinstalled 2019 version clean. Still no luck. No filters in the filter list.
Can't understand why this is happenning. I think maybe it starts loading filters while starting the program and fails (cause the first time your start the program and it fails to start). And then it starts but without any filters.

Hi
You may be best to contact Corel Support to report this problem
If you have corrupt downloaded files you can download again by running the Web Installer file, its approx. 8 Mb called VideoStudio_Install.exe or similar.
Choose a new empty “Download Location” to download a new file.
To reduce time you can also download the Main Program only.
Whilst its downloading uninstall 2019 using the Cleanup tool

Then delete the reset folder
C:\Users\trevo\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\22.0

Check this location
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2019
Tell us if there are any files here --- delete any files in this folder

Re-install the program, only the Main Program from the new download
If that works, run the web installer to download the rest of the contents packages and install

Well, did all of the above and so far so good. All the filters showed up at this point.
Haven't tried active editing yet, but as for now - all good.
Thanks so much!

Can you clarify if you found any leftover files in the above folder after you uninstalled 2019
