VideoStudeo 2019 more issues

Post by bighead »

I just read other posts about the time line editing problems. So I'm not repeating it here. I wish they fix it tomorrow.

I have another annoying problem. The cursor often turns into track height adjusting cursor (a vertical line with an arrow at each end). Once this happens I loose mouse functions, eg. I can't highlight any clips. The only thing works is right clicking on a clip, but any menu item needs cursor operation won't work. The mouse still work outside the time line.

I have tried many things, it seems the only way to make it work again is to restart the program. and then it will happen again in a couple of minutes. Lucky I can at least save project when this happens. So for my last small project I had to restart the program every 3 or 5 minutes. Plus the reported timeline issues, it makes this software not usable.

The timeline part really let the whole development team down. Those sparkling new features are useless if we can't practically use the software.

Hi
and welcome to the forums
Thanks for the info on this problem, Corel were aware of this problem prior to release of the program.
The problem was repeatable although I cannot remember the exact details or mouse pushes to create this anomaly

Hopefully Corel will bring out a Service Patch to correct all issues.

Thanks Travor. But just curious, how do you know they knew it before release?

The frustrating thing for me is that we don't have any indication as when the fixing patch would be available.

The cursor often turns into track height adjusting cursor
Add me to the list of having this problem, I'm getting this same type of issue except mine turns into a cross similar to a targeting reticle. And it only seems to happen when I add effects or multiple videos to the project timeline. The mouse curser locks to the cross and I can't click on anything for several seconds, 15 to 30 seconds in some cases.

Terrible bug

The 2019 release seems premature. Since we are "paid" beta testers, it would be good to have a dedicated forum for bug reporting, and importantly notifying us about the progress of patching work, rather than leaving us in the dark, saying "I hope they fix it soon"

Is this a big ask?

Dear Corel
I know fixing codes is no easy task. But could you please tell us when the patch is expected?

Hi bighead

Sorry we do not have a definite date for the next service patch.
I am hopeful it will be soon, frustrating to say the least
We do not work for Corel, just volunteers helping to run the forums, as such know as much as you.

The patch as far as I know will be delivered through the program and as soon as we are aware will post details to this forum

Thanks Trevor

I have been doing editing with vs2019 today for about 4 hours and never had the nightmare cursor problem today. In fact it was very stable......has a patch been already applied automatically?

Has anyone else noticed anything?

With the update, ripple editing is always on, even when you select to disable it.

The long-awaited patch (SP2) has now become available. If it has been applied, your version should be 22.2.0.396. If you don't have that version, then in the Help tab click on Check for Updates. It should then download and install SP2.

I take it you don't have any issues with the dodgy cursor after the update?
Thanks,

I worked for about 4 hours on a 5 min film the other day. To my surprise there was no cursor problem, no lock up and no crash. But this was before I upgraded to 22.2.0.396

So suspect some sort of minor upgrades may have taken place before patch 2

Before patch 2 I had to manually align clips in the main track. With patch 2, the magnetic ripple effect is back.
