Hi
I have had so many problems with different videos trying to edit into Corel. Why did I spend the money for this program when it causes nothing but difficulty. I have windows 10 and have all the system requirements. AVI and MP4 when I put into corel they slag. The audio doesn't match the mouth. Another post answered said MP4 was too large of a file for corel to handle. Really? The input formats include MP4. I am stumped. The only thing that really works ok is MOV and that is ridiculous !!!!
I am getting quite upset over this program. It's a simple task. Put the video into corel and if it plays otherwise on your computer shouldn't it play into corel? That is without even editing it plays slow. So, I render and see if for some reason it will fix. It will not.
I need to complete my current project, then I am probably filing complaints within Corel and throwing this program in the trash and going with Pinnacle or something else.
So to complete this project, I need someone to record off their windows 10 computer and be able to use a free recording program to save the file with a format that is easily handled in Corel. Any such program exist for a quick face tape? I tried a few and then threw into Corel and they didn't work, still slow.
I thought maybe my computer so I asked another corel user with a different operating system and it plays fine but when put into Corel it is slow the mouth movement to audio.
Any simple free recorders that can be used for Corel editing? Just to note, the person doing the recording does not have Corel. So just need something for her to tape herself then send to me. Google drive. Which can mess things up to unfortunately.
Thank you.

I do not know what problems you have. Just here are many hundreds Corel users and they do not have such problems like you.
What do you want to record? Corel VS is not a video recorder. Camcorders and similar devices are designed to record a video.

First thank you for replying.
I do not expect to record from VS. I was asking for a video recorder for your laptop that would nicely save the video as a file format excepted into VS the easiest way since the program can't handle editing MP4 which everything is now saved as. Actually AVI it can't even handle correctly.
All videos play fine on my computer. The problem occurs when put into VS and played not even edited yet, just play. Not all videos. MOV seems to work well in there.
I have all the system requirements and my computer is new. Two months old.
Without phone support and trouble shooting it becomes very problamatic trying to figure out what the problem is. Like I said, I am ready to trash the program and go with another as its pointless if I can't figure this problem out and there is no one to help me. No support with VS.

I had similar problems from one drone camera. VS ignored the MP4 files, but VLC played them. In VLC there is a file convertor, convert your files with Vlc to *.mp4 and this format worked fine with my VS X7. I did not check the Vs2018 yet.

What version of VS do you have? There is no VS 18 or did you mean VS 2018?sunshine wrote:First thank you for replying.

VS accepts mp4 and avi files. mov files often give problems on the other hand.
I still don't understand what you mean by "a video recorder". A hardware device or some software to "capture" the screen?
Where did you get the video that your are having problems with? Can you upload a short sample to a site like Dropbox or Google drive so that we can have a look at it?

Re: videos input slag slow -need recorder suitable for corel
Normally, successive versions of Video Studio, including VS 2019 and 2018, have no trouble with MP4, but this is usually mp4 whose properties conform pretty closely to "standard" international format standards.
The type of mp4 that Video Studio *can* have trouble with is usually from certain recent smartphones which film video using a variable frame rate. So could give us the properties of one of the problem clips in this case. VLC will give you those properties, or the freeware Media Info program...
The international standard formats I referred to above, and which VS has no trouble with, are 24, 25, 29.97 (or 30), 50, and 59.94 (or 60) frames per second (though rates such as 15, 100 and 120 fps can normally also be used). So if the properties shown for your video show something different, this may be the cause of your problems. And again, as already suggested, the only way of getting that video into Video Studio is to use a conversion program like VLC or the freeware Handbrake, to convert the video to have one of the standard frame rates which VS can accept.

Try a Google search for "do I share the video with on google drive?" and you'll find that one of the first results returned is "Share files from Google Drive - Computer - Google Drive Help" (https://support.google.com/drive/answer ... ktop&hl=en).sunshine wrote:who do I share the video with on google drive?

This problem has been solved.
In windows 10 there is a hidden video edit program under photos. So if you open in photos it actually plays. Then I saved through there the changes and then it actually played in Corel 18. Who would have thought.
