FYI, Corel technicians admitted on 15FEB that they were baffled why VideoStudio Ultimate 2019 (in my case, the upgrade) would not properly open .MOV files created by Olympus cameras. I had reported this issue when using VS2018, and the salespeople assured me that the 2019 version would fix the problem, though I think we all did not understand at that time that we were dealing with something unique (maybe?) to Olympus. .MOV files created by Apple (iPhone) and Sony cameras open correctly in VideoStudio.
I have been using VS on Windows 7 and 8.1 platforms with the same results.
Corel technicians have, I think, given up on trying to resolve this, and have told me to use another application to convert the Olympus .MOV files to something compatible with VideoStudio. They have apologized for the inconvenience.
I have also reported the issue to Olympus, hoping that between the two companies someone will figure out the cause and a solution.
About the only good news is that Olympus does offer a free tool, “Olympus Viewer 3” which does a good job of converting .MOV to .MP4, at selectable levels of resolution. I’m sure there are other products, but OV3 also allows for converting more than a single file at a time. I’m not sure how many I can put into queue, yet. I’m using a desktop with 24 GB RAM for this stage of the project.

As you know, QuickTime 7.7.9 is the last Windows release of QuickTime (3 years ago). Apple stopped supporting QuickTime on Windows afterwards.
And your Olympus camera?
And your Olympus camera?

MLKIMMEY -- would it be possible to upload a small sample clip of your Olympus MOV video to a site like Dropbox, so that we can try it out at our end?

Re: VideoStudio 2019 Compatibility Issue - Olympus .MOV file
I just dragged out my old Olympus OM-D E-M1 and took a FullHD 30fps clip - had no problem importing it to VS2018 and VS2019, and editing is per normal with my other normal sources. I have an older Olympus PEN camera buried in a cupboard...let me dig that out and try

Re: VideoStudio 2019 Compatibility Issue - Olympus .MOV file
OK I tried the old PEN E-PL1 which amazingly turned on...and had enough battery power to shoot a clip. However it is not in .MOV format - records as an AVI in 30fps HD and imports to both without any issues
Re: VideoStudio 2019 Compatibility Issue - Olympus .MOV file
I have the same problem with .mov files from an Olympus TG5 camera. Refuses to load on VS x10 or VS 2019. Works fine on ten other video programs I tried the files on. Corel support told me the solution was to convert the files to MP4 via a free cloud service. I am serious! With my internet connection I would be waiting weeks for that to process. It is a pity that such a well known software bug has been ignored for so long.
