i also do not trust to much to that description. Probably there is something wrong. Maybe a short example of the original video would help.lata wrote:That may be so, but those properties look identical to the ones I use as mts transport stream
Other than being in French, they do not look like MP4
Just wondering if there has been some mix up here

Re: Incorrect duration for 4K video
The duration for the video and audio is given as 1min 3sec for the Sony properties and 1min 0 sec for both files created by VS. It is the duration in the General section that is incorrect

Re: Incorrect duration for 4K video
I reported this problem to Corel's technical staff. At their request I sent them (by WeTransfer) the files described in the PDF.
Here is the last reaction received:
"Please note that your request has been advanced in the attention of a higher department.
We will contact you as soon as possible with the proposed solution.
If necessary, you will be contacted by another agent for advanced support.
Thank you for your understanding and patience. "
I think the files produced by Corel in AVC / H264, 4K have an indication of incorrect duration and therefore a false average bitrate.
I hope we'll know more thanks to Corel's technical staff.
Wait and see...

Re: Incorrect duration for 4K video
I just receive this message from the technical staff:
"My colleagues on the support team confirmed that the X9 version of VideoStudio had problems with the metadata.
Unfortunately, for your version, a fix is not available, but the following versions do not have this problem.
If you do not find this problem too serious, I suggest you continue using it.
In case the problem persists, I remain at your disposal. "
However, I intend to ask them to confirm that this error is no longer present in the latest version of VS.

Re: Incorrect duration for 4K video
Hi
Can you please provide the sample video as your original post
You will have to upload to a sharing site, One Drive, Google Drive, DropBox etc then provide a link on your reply
We can check the file and maybe get a better idea as to what is happening.
then check if the later versions have the same problem

Re: Incorrect duration for 4K video
Here is a link to load two files from WeTransfer: the one from the camcorder (mp4) and the one produced by VS (m2t) :
https://we.tl/t-1Ui65dYZTw
I installed Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2019 to test, but unfortunately the trial version does not release files with the desired features
(MPEG Streams Transport Files
24 Bits, 3840 x 2160, 50 fps
frame-based
(HDMV-PAL), 16: 9
H.264 video
Video data rate: Variable (Max 65000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 3/2 (L, C, R, SL, SR))
So, I do not know if this problem of duration is corrected in the recent versions of VS.

Re: Incorrect duration for 4K video
Hi Charlie
Thanks for the sample
Using CVSX9 I have no problems in rendering that MP4 to AVCHD as your properties above
The render time was quite long but other than that did ok with identical duration's 00:01:03:17
I also tested using 2018 again with no problems
I cannot really understand why you chose 50P instead of 25P as original
In fact why did you need to convert to MPEG Transport-Stream Files?????

Re: Incorrect duration for 4K video
Latest Technical Staff Update: "Yes, this issue has been fixed in the 2019 release of VideoStudio. I recommend that you wait for the fix for this release because there are some editing issues that need fixing."
For Trevor:
Usually the files coming out of the camcorder are in Dolby 3.2 and during editing I am still working in Dolby 3.2. At the time of releasing the video file of CVS, I would like to choose MPEG-4, but none of the MPEG-4 formats in VS 9 does allow Dolby 3.2 (only AAC stereo). That's why I am forced to choose the AVC H-264 output format and MPEG Transport-Stream Files. I do not understand why the MPEG-4 format does not allow Dolby 3.2?

Re: Incorrect duration for 4K video
Charles
CVS2019 will NOT support Digital Dolby Surround Sound 3.2, you will only be able to use Stereo.
Also new programs (2019) installed to Windows 7 will not support Digital Dolby
Going back to the rendered duration, i had no problems with the resultant files being the same duration as the original.
I did not use 2019 as that at the moment is not installed, but all other programs X9, x10, and 2018 had no problems
I have never seen any Mpeg4 supporting Digital Dolby, i have always thought that was a Transport Stream properties OR Mpeg2 in particular for Bluray or DVD discs.
