It's dimmed out. Can't you see that or maybe it's my computer which I know it is not! What does it take to make it brighter?

You can include "Properties" as well but, these items should be brighter-period.

Video Studio 2020 Wishlist

1. Clips snaps together (magnetic). This is big pain in butt
2. Projects more geared to GoPro cameras. There is nothing in 2019 version to set project to GoPro cameras. Everything is 20 years old
3. Tons of gimmicks which nobody uses, these days. Nobody will watch swirling titles and changing colors. This era is dead and over. These days people have just 20 sec of patience and it is over.
The same applies to preformatted templates.
4. Edits and cursor position are extremely frustrating. It should be like MS Movie Maker with just 3 perfect commands in right-click: "Start clip here", "Split" and "End clip here". The cursor must return to the end of new cut. If I am at 2 min of edited track and cut the following 30 sec then the cursor must still be at 2 min and visible on the screen. Presently the the cursor will be at 2:30, 30 sec passed the unedited clips, totally out of screen
5. Music track with visible wave like other programs, so I could make cuts into the music rhythm.
6. There must be some way to eliminate proxies. It takes 24 hours in my case to generate the proxies. I have old programs like "vReveal 3" which runs instantly in high resolution.
7. Make the same changes on multiple selected clips, like speed. I need to select (Ctr) some particular clips and increase the speed. Now I have perhaps 200 clips which I have to individually select, select speed, type in new number and go back. Any other programs I could select many and individual clips and set the speed accordingly.
8. Clip speed slider is totally useless. It should be set of buttons with 1.5x 2x, 2.5x, 3x, 3.5x, 4x, 4.5x, 5x, Other
9. Sound for multicam editor should be by default set to Auto. Currently it is invisible on the top, with Cam 1 default.
10. Allow to change clip speeds to in Multicam windows
11. There is no way to open saved Multi view project when it crashes, which is very often. There is on the menu Save, Save As, but not Open. That's crazy

Here is my problem which I am facing, and I think I am not the only one:
I am using up to 5 GoPro cameras on my ultralight. They run continuously during the flight, sometimes 2 hours non stop. This means I have 10 hours of clips to edit into 5 minutes video. I run some clips at real speed, some views up to 3x faster, but not always. This take serious time and frustration. Speed cannot be changed in Multi editor
After 24 hours waiting for proxy I do very raw multi track edits. The first I have to synch all tracks, which takes me about 2 hours. This is extremely painful. Ultimately, I will end up with 2 hour track, and if lucky then I Save it.
I open Edit and load multi track and start to cut out boring sections and playing with various speeds for various clips. When done, I add title, captions and credits. There is nothing simple, only those gimmicky and annoying 3d and complex texts. Ad music and save it, by the first clip, which in my case, has to be the highest rate camera. I cannot save it for the next time, when my first camera clip is in lower resolution. Very bad and primitive.
I wish your designer mounted 4 cameras around a car and then drove around for 1 hour. Bring 4 hours of clips and edit them into 5 min video. You would see right a way the limitation and how bad it is.
You can see the result from almost 2 hour flight here: https://youtu.be/hhq-4XAP_ks

I agree with that. It is very fashionable these days to make text invisible. Come on, people.

jannadem, all your points are valid, unfortunately (as we know from the past) most of them will not be implemented even in VS2025. So you have two options, stay with VS and gather more patience or try flying a different plane.
my 2c are, if most your stuff is on speeds anyhow, don't waste your time for proxies, but render your rushes into 2X even before you start any edit.
my 3c are, I'm not much into ultralight so what your video is lacking is some narration, radio communication, map maybe...

I’m too amateur to everything your talking about but I now totally get what you mean about proxies. I originally thought they were a blessing so I could work with 4K footage on a system that is actually high end but I guess just not high enough so I thought how cool proxies allow me to edit 4K but man it sucks it takes so dang long, I swear sometimes it must be longer than just rendering a lower res copy and working with that (basically first day is wasted just making proxies). Now I’m just starting using pinnacle 23 (I has 22 but just wasn’t ready for it at the time, too new to editing) now in pinnacle if I lower the preview pre render to 60% all a sudden I can run and edit 4K footage without waiting at all. I’m Not sure what or how they are doing it but both owned by Corel so maybe someone talk to someone else. I will say once the proxy is done edits are really fast but there are some bugs with final rendering when doing certain things like zoom (it keeps the crappy blurred proxy image). All in all I like VS and want to continue but I think I am starting to find it’s shortcomings and will just have to learn to use a truer video editor layout.

(I haven't read all the posts so apologies if I am repeating a prior suggestion)...Instead of adding any new features just please fix all the existing bugs so we can have a stable and reliable tool that matches the stated features/promotions. :x

Is it only me who is wishting to see an option that outputs could be scripted / batched?

I have seven .vsp files. All of them includes small video with 2 minutes duration. Now I would like to easily share 720p/1080p/1080p+100fps videos. How cool it is if I can just say, select the following projects and generate the following outputs, please. Now I need to click with my mouse...too many times + waiting that one operation is over, then start next.

Hi
You can use File - Batch Convert option that will allow you to add Video or VSP files
The output format will be the same for all files/vsp's we can only select one type but most / all formats are available.

If you need to output to different formats then I am afraid that is one at a time.

My 2c for you pepi, if you need 3 rez of the same video than let VS do the highest quality/hfr and than use a converter to make the others.

Upload your 1080p video to YouTube and lower res videos will be automatically generated and available for viewing by those that you share the URL with.

Please add ...
  • full GPGPU framework support (for CUDA and OpenCL).
  • full RTX support (for GeForce RTX cards) to improve 3D Text Titler and all relevant text, graphic, animation, and other native VideoStudio effects.
  • the option to set the default transition to less than 1 second (in Settings > Preferences ... > Edit > Transition Effect).
  • the option to save the film as an animated PNG or animated GIF file.
  • a 3D VR sound environment so that audio sounds like it's not only moving left, centre, and right (as is presently available), but also sounds like it's in front, behind, above, below, and anywhere within a 3D environment.
  • the option to link 3D VR sound/audio (including auto music) to 3D Text Titler letters (individual letters or a collection of letters that form words), Advanced Motion objects, etc., so that it sounds like the audio is coming from the letters or objects as they individually or collectively move around on or off the screen in the 3D environment. I'm thinking of something akin to how the audio is attached to specific objects in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3eOuqAmLAA), resulting in the 3D audio effect heard in this video (even without stereo headphones, but better with stereo headphones or 5.1 surround sound speakers).
Please improve ...
  • the Multi-Camera Editor feature.
When recording video with two different brands of camera, the recordings don't sync well. So the video recording needs to be cut in between transitions and resynced when transitioning. Since this doesn't work well using the Multi-Camera Editor, I need to do this manually. Usually, I add a third audio-only recording as the primary audio track to sync the video recordings to, editing them when necessary in order to keep them as synced as possible. My experience is that VideoStudio's Multi-Camera editor doesn't let me do these things. So, if possible, could the Multi-Camera Editor be modified to use an audio track (alone or in a recording) as the primary track and then resync chosen scenes with that audio track?
  • the Track Motion's Multipoint Tracker so that we can add and remove more points than the default 4 corners. When blurring out a group of children (for example), sometimes one or two children stand up to move around. Adding another few extra points to cover them when they do this would be ideal, instead of adding another box that clearly stands out from the main area that has been blurred.
That's all that I can think of at the moment.

Thank you for your consideration and thank you for making an excellent, affordable, and very user-friendly product!

I wish I was able to Cut, Copy and Past in the timeline. When I want a 3 minute scene with multiple clips and transitions to move to a different position in a 30 minute movie it is a pain.
Also VS is not very stable, I experience a lot of crashes, while working in the timeline and while rendering. MPEG-4 rendering is great, but AVCHD is impossible for me. And when working in the timeline, save after any change.
