Video Studio 2020 Wishlist

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
I would find it very useful if Corel would add a feature to edit the metadata of the shared file. This would be particularly useful for choosing an image to appear as the file icon for mp4 files. I was directed to a program called Mp3tag that enables me to do this, but it would be nice if Corel would add this ability to VideoStudio. It would be much more useful than many of the other features of the program.

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
Aaargh! It hits again!
I have 90 min video almost ready with Overlays and audio tracks. And then you tune a bit the main video, a bit shorter than original. What happen for the Overlays and Audio tracks? Nothing!!
What should happen: other tracks should follow the main video so they stay all in sync. Now I need to start synchronizing the tracks again.
Is it really so that I have not seen the guidelines where this has been told, how to avoid it? Or is it so hard to implement possibility to shorten/extending other tracks following what is happening on the main video?

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
If you are currently using VS 2019, have you installed the latest update? Check in Help. The original version of VS 2019 introduced gaps in the main timeline, and broke ripple editing.

Hi Ken,
At least the "Check for Updates" says no more updates. Currently I'm running version: 22.2.0.396 but having the same problem.
When you say, there has been fixes, are those release notes available on somewhere?

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
Wishlist for 2020:
1. Ability to nudge tracks in very small increments for better ease of audio sync or title and photo alignments.
2. Increase in audio wave length width in both video, voice and music tracks to greatly help see the audio wave when syncing audio to video.
Thanks,
Candy

VS2019 has 1 frame nudge, but as I deleted it I don't recall what shortcut it was, try CTRL+ arrows.

Possibility to change the colors of the whole interface or at minimum to propose a set of preformated colors interfaces.

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
More characters for the file name.
Today VStudio shows only 20 characters from the file name of the project on up right corner. At least I wish to see either the full name or at least a bit more as I have not found any other place from where you could check what is the project's name.
Moving titles more controlled way.
Currently when you are moving the titles on the screen, it is allowed to move in both X- / Y-axles. On other graphical tools I have used to move objects with both or either with one axle.

DITTO! VERY IMPORTANT! Thank you Candy for mentioning this.cdoughertycd wrote:Wishlist for 2020:

This will make it much easier to more precisely align multiple video clips with audio with each other. I work with live music recordings. It is very critical that the audio is in perfect sync with all of the video clips of various sizes and lengths from multiple sources. The automatic alignment features are good but not good enough in these circumstances. Even zoomed in, the software does not allow precise millisecond alignment of the audio sine waves of video clips.

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
Effects:
More descriptive information in the form of pop-up boxes or links to information and how the effect works about each included FX effect would be helpful. Also, sorting or better identification in the selection panel of those effects that require additional purchase and activation to be fully functional as opposed to fully-functional included effects. The graphic icons are helpful but completely inadequate for describing the FX effects. The graphic icons for transitions are much better, but there are still some surprises when one tries a new one. As it stands now, it's necessary to experiment with each effect to see if it is useful and it actually does what you thought it might do and want it to do. Many are impressive, useful and amazing, but several are also too bizarre for most applications. Then it becomes necessary to remember which ones do what. Fortunately, in that regard, the ability to save and select "my favorites" which become one's almost exclusive "go to's" is very helpful. Thank you.

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
I wish they would fix their 3840x2160 (4K) rendering so that it does not crash. I cannot use their program to render in 4K. Thus, I am restricted to HD.
4K is taking hold and Corel better get going! It can render small clips but, full projects-no way.

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
Remove that blue chevron in the upper left hand corner. It too often reduces the screen size-poor placement.

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
Do you mean this where the red arrow is pointing? If so, I don't understand your complaint as it is roughly the same size as the other items and tabs in that line.

Re: Video Studio 2020 Wishlist
When I go to open "File", more often than I like, the screen size decreases because the chervon is too close to it.
