Animated menu buttons are corrupted when source file is divx

I had been trying to burn all my TV recordings from my tuner card to DVD since it takes too much space in my PC so I got a 400 DVD changer and what took 95% of my 160GB hard drive will take 3-5% of this DVD changer. I was using Nero until I gave up due to bugs and how hard it is to remove ads.

ULead MF is so much better, but when I choose to have animated buttons of 10 second extracts of the videos, this works fine in the preview before burning, but on the final DVD, the video previews only work for the videos that were in mpeg and not those that were in divx, even though they all worked in the preview in MF before burning.

Is there any way to correct this?

I spoke too soon, the entire videos are corrupted, not just the menu animations. Is this a common problem when trying to convert divx? Is there a solution?
