how to tile and zoom OUT many openned pictures ?

Post by Michael REMY »

hi,

i often open many pictures in the same time.

each time, for each one, i have to scale down the window and use the zoom out to see them entirely.

how can i do that in one operation , one click ?

i tried the menu window / Tile verticaly and tile horizontaly, but none of this feature use the zoom out to let show the picture.

picture 1 : my problem
they are been tiled horizontaly by window menu feature (but the zoom is not correct)

picture 2 : what i need and performed manualy (long time, many clics!!)
what i want to be done automatic !

This was mentioned in another thread:
viewtopic.php?f=56&t=64973

ie:it be good to be able to see the whole of the image when you tile horizontally perhaps a wish list item

You can get what you want in Manage mode where the Organiser can be set for Preview or Thumbnail mode.
It would be good if that function was maintained with the Organiser in Edit Mode

Hartpaul mentioned the Manage mode. It seems to me that the reason for wanting to view such a number of images simultaneously is to be able to compare before deciding on which to work with. So Manage mode makes most sense.

However, Manage mode on its own does not allow putting the images close to each other or in the sequence one would like or to have images from different folders. To get around this, create a tray in Manage mode Thumbnail view by clicking on the arrow in the bottom right corner and checking Tray in the list that pops up. Drag the images you want to work with into the My Tray tab. Images can be moved into any sequence. Double clicking on the images opens them to full screen and using keyboard arrows you can go through them in the sequence you choose. Note also that you can create more trays by clicking on the + beside the tab.

no, the reason is i need to work on them simultnaimous like apply the same sequence of effect like :
1st : croppring, adjust light, adjust color.

in fact, a super feature is missing in PSP (or i didn't know the key).
when i apply a effet/filter/operation, there should be a KEY that will apply the effet to all the opened picture.

a kind of feature like "batch lot" but in live-editor mode.

actualy, i have the boring task to do :
- select the effet
- apply it
- go to next openeng picture
- press CTRL+Y (repeat)
- go to next
- CTRL+Y
..etc

does the "CTRL+A", will select all the opened picture and would apply the effet to all ? i ask the question, but i did not try it, it would be so magical it runs in that way like a wordtext processor...

woooooooooooooo !
this is SUPER !!!!! thank you A LOT !!!!

by the way, i don't know whenever it is a bug or not, but the feature "tile verticaly" did not appear in the HISTORY item, neither ZOOM OUT. Theses absent items are not in the "non-undoable command" at all (which is strange because the SAVE is there).
so i have to re-do the tile and zoom after the effets to all.

Even if i save the first one, there is no "save-all" in the history neither in the file menu. i have to close the application to be offered the feature "save-all" by select-cheked the pictures in the window dialg (which appear only if i close the application).

but this "history-all feature" is already a big gain of time , thank U again jean-luc !

History will show items that have been done directly to an image. Technically zoom is done on the window, not the image. And Tile vertically is done on the application, not the image. It is scriptable (to a point). For example, in my tests, the FitToWindow command almost only ever works on the active image and never the target image. I didn't try regular zoom though. And I was, through a very weird circumstance, able to get it to fit all images except the last one. Haven't been able to figure out how though.
