JPG Workflow
Bit confused about workflow in Paintshop Pro Ultimate 2019. If I come back from a shoot with 400 JPG images, do I start by viewing them in Manager? If I have 100 I want to work on, do I send them all to Edit? They then just become numbers across the top of the work area, which seems awkward. What am I missing please? Canbiker

Re: JPG Workflow
You can rename the images in a bulk process or in another program. I use Irfanview.
My process is after a shoot eg on fireworks on Dec 31st 2018 to load the images into a folder ( in documents or on an attached hard drive ) and name that folder .
I use the date in reverse order and a descriptive name eg 181231Fireworkstweed
Then for the images I bulk rename them :
twdfirewks181231a001.jpg
twdfirewks181231a002.jpg
.
.
.twdfirewks181231a100.jpg
This means that if I take copies of a number of images and combine them with others in a group folder and then look at them in thumbnail or Details form I can immediately see what the subject is what date it was taken and about where in that group of images it lies. eg twdfirewks181231a055.jpg tells me that it is the 55 th shot of fireworks taken at Tweed on New years eve 2018.
There will be no conflict in numbering as each number is unique. So grabbing a selection of firework shots taken at different years times / locations can be all put in the one folder without getting that message "this file xxxx already exists , do you wish to Overwrite it / skip it etc.
Once renamed I Make a backup copy of all those files on at least two other locations. Then I am ready to operate on those files or copies of them in a work folder . It may seem like a lot of bother but you should never lose an image from working on an original.
Some people may go through and edit / delete all the bad images and so finish up with a smaller group of images to archive. I find that with storage cheap you can keep even the partially dud ones (except the totally black ones you accidentally took with the lens cap on - always throw them away first. Sometimes even a dud one can be used to show a problem or explain to someone else what not to do.
I am sure there will be many other methods and workflows that others may use.

Re: JPG Workflow
The only thing I would add to @hartpaul's workflow is this. I add a sub-folder named Possibles to the main folder I have created. Then, using Irfanview, I view each of the images in the main folder to see which ones I feel are worth considering for possible use and enhancement and I move those images into the Possibles sub-folder. Those are then the images that I will open in PSP to work on. I still have all of the other images that I didn't originally think were that good in the main folder I had first created.

You need to work with the Complete workspace and not the Essentials.Canbiker wrote:Bit confused about workflow in Paintshop Pro Ultimate 2019. In Edit mode, open the Organizer (Shift+F9) and you will see your images as thumbnails.

Re: JPG Workflow
What I saw was the OP's concern about:
This can provide just a line of numbers if renaming has not occurred. They can do Window > Tile Horizontally when it becomes like this: Still a lot of numbers but at least you can see part of the image (wouldn't it be good to be able to see the whole of the image when you tile horizontally perhaps a wish list item?)
Or you could load the images from the explorer folder showing large thumbs by drag and drop when you get a lot of overlapping images with some hidden Or probably better is to use the Organiser Shift F9 and navigate to the folder when you can see the thumbs and work on each image as you wish. We each develop over time, our own workflow depending on whether it is semi bulk processing of a large number of images or just 2 or 3 images. There is no best way for all.
I would presume they are in the Complete workspace (if not follow Jean-luc's suggestion to get there), but they are in Tabbed mode (Windows > Tabbed Documents). They then just become numbers across the top of the work area, which seems awkward.
