Go quickly to here
http://dwnld.videostudiopro.com/trials/ ... taller.exe
First download all the files (and later save them externaly)- do not install yet!
After you have all the files, ~5GB , run it again and do the instalation, one thing at a time.

Re: Reinstall VS 2018 after change to win 10
There is also no need to re-register or re-activate. It is on the same computer, albeit with a new OS, but you have already registered the program and are merely reinstalling it.
Personally, I would have assumed you kept the original download installation files, or at least links. If you still had the download stub, all you do is run it. Normally, it would indicate all the various parts of the download package it would be looking for, and asking for the SN. It would also normally indicate a choice for you to either download/install all packages or only those which it could not detect as being already there.
What I don't understand, though, is why your upgrade to Win 10 did not already just see and include VS as a working program. That is what happens with most of us when we upgrade from Win 7 or 8 to 10. Or did you do a totally new install of Win 10 on a reformatted hard disk?

Re: Reinstall VS 2018 after change to win 10
you should not need to do any more downloading
if you installed from a disc just put the disc in your computer and follow the onscreen instructions
when you installed the first time the package would have put a folder on your desktop called 'Videostudio2018' , open that folder and run the 'Videostudio_Install.exe' file, you may be prompted to enter the serial number at the start
Note ; if like many people you like to keep your desktop tidy you may have moved that folder somewhere else
although as Ken says when I updated to Win 10 it did not remove any of the programmes I already had and Videostudio just carried on working
++++

Kenneth
Have you located the original download files in particular the Stub aka web installer
Maybe called VS2018_Online.exe or VideoStudio_Install.exe, at 10,960Kb
Running that will allow you to insert your serial number, on the last page it will indicate whether the program is installed or not.
How you updated to Windows 10 will influence as to whether the program is installed or not.
It will also allow you to download the files again – if you wish to do that, then install using the latest Service Patch

Re: Reinstall VS 2018 after change to win 10
Post update
I contacted Kenneth directly
The Stub Installer was trying to update from the Trial 2018 to the Ultimate giving an error message.
I think Ken may have installed the Trial instead of the purchased version which he owns.
Easily done when one stub looks like any other.
Ran the Cleanup again, downloaded 2018 installation files again, installed without problems
Deleted the original downloads including a Trial folder.

Re: Reinstall VS 2018 after change to win 10
I had not replied to posts because I was in communication with Corel Suppport and waiting responses.I was trying to install on a new faster SSD hard drive. But as you now know I was saved by Lata (again) and want to thank him here very much for all his time, knowledge and patience spent in sorting me out. What a great forum.
