They don't jive

Storyboard and Timeline out of sync. See attachments:

That's the placement bug.

The two images show timeline views one from 2018 and one from 2019 , not the storyboard. I can't see any out of sync problems from that

Do you know the difference between Storyboard view and Timeline view

Photos got mixed up. Sugarsync did not give the correct images. Imgur did. Look again.

not out of sync - out of sequence maybe - but since you will not make and post a video of what happens when you place a clip then I will leave you to someone who understands your problem

you do know you can just slide the icons about in storyboard view to get the sequence you want

My friend, that is the problem. Did you not see the evidence in the photos? No video is required to see that.

Hi guys
I ran a test on this earlier in the day and did see the issue you are having
The clip order changed when switching from Storyboard to Timeline view
We did report this to the video studio development team.
I have been quite busy today and only now found time to reply to this post
However when I test now I do not have a problem and my clips now remain in order which I cannot explain.
Certainly there was a problem 9 hours ago.

The images by Pepegota
First image shows 3 clips placed there when in Storyboard view, look where the flower clip is placed.
Second image shows how they look in Timeline view, not in the same order with no reason for the change.

1 / switch to storyboard view then add 3 clips
2 / switch to Timeline view, does the order change?

No and Yes

if I put three clips in the timeline I can switch back and forth without any movement, but if I change the order of the clips in the storyboard view then switching does not change the order in the timeline , they stay as they were. also if I change the order in the timeline then the storyboard also changes to match

FWIW, I just tried that. I used three of the clip samples which come with VS, but noted the order as I placed them in the storyboard view. Then switched to timeline view, and they stayed in the same order as in storyboard view. I switched back and forth, but they retained their placement.

I might note that when I started this experiment, transitions were automatically placed between the clips as I have that set in preferences. However, removing the transitions did not alter the placement of the clips when moving between storyboard and timeline. Just to be sure I changed Preference so that a transition was not automatically placed, and created a New Project in which I placed three different clips. But everything again remained in the original order between storyboard and timeline views.

If you change the order in the timeline or in the storyboard, the play preview also fails - not all the segments play

There is a major bug here

I got a refund so, they must have accepted my reason. When they correct it, I will re-purchase. They changed the function of
the main track by making it movable, unlike PowerDirector which had it from inception. The errors of new practice without through testing.

Ken, the problem arises when you move an item on the storyboard to a different position on the storyboard and then view it on the timeline. There is no sync. Now look at the timeline and it's out of wack.

It is a known issue and has been bugged and reported to the development team
