Split screen any one?

Post by asik1 »

I just installed VS2018 last week and I reviewing the Split Screen IP's
These IP's holds just place holders to be replaced, so why the hell they are so long?
Look at IP-38 or IP39 they are 33 seconds.
If one want to replace with a still, no problem but this is a video editing machine and one needs to replace with a video clip? it better be at least 33 seconds.
Why??? what so special about that duration?

IP should be the bare minimum to grasp it looks. Any of these Split Screen IP's should be 3-5 seconds max.

Nothing at all, drag the split screen template down into the timeline then select each placeholder one by one , hover your mouse cursor over the vertical yellow bar at the right end until it changes to the double headed arrow , click and slide left or right to shorten or lengthen the placeholder just as you would with any other clips. It is best if you make them all the same length but if you do set different lengths in one template you might not get the result you expected

or *** double click the placeholder and use the digital timer in the options panel to set new length

having made the changes you can do "File >> export as a template >> Instant project template" to create a new template with your own name and your own length for use ever more

or perhaps for more advanced users like you , open the split screen editor and create your own personal templates and make them whatever length you wish

Mine more "Independent". it's nuts, all are 10 but those 2 are 33sec.
I modify one to just 5sec and export it as IP and..... it loads as 20sec one.

Somehow the template names have changed, on my version and Trevors would be the same, we have IP-01 to IP-09, your template IP-38 on my system is IP-07 and is 10 seconds and your template IP-39 is our template IP-08 and again is 10 seconds long as are all the other templates

re-inflated

Thanks for the image....
Now I can see that IP-37 is IP-07 and IP – 38 is my IP-08, yes the duration is longer at 33 seconds
I located the associated true Split Screen template and that also shows as 33 sec, all others are 10 seconds.
Now I do not understand why Robert sees 10 seconds

If my memory serves me there was some confusion with IP names when Split Screen was first used
Have you tried a Library reset followed by a program reset, although that will not change the duration but may update the names?
Are you using the 32bit or 64 bit program
