It's an upgrade so you NEED to have a previous VS serial number.
And no, I am not apologetic in the least. I just disagree with your assessment of things. I do have that right to disagree, yes? Or is your view the only view acceptable. It seems that....
As for people getting 'scammed'..... that is another opinion that I will not engage in for obvious reasons.
It seems your "beef" (along with your colorful language) should be directed at Corel. I did not make their business model, and if I disagreed with something so much, I would not bother supporting it with my money or time. I personally have much more important things to do..
But that's "me".
I'm sorry... but you're the one who kept responding to my post, or did your cat type those... so I'm going to just give you a big fat "touche" to that weak a** attempt to save face. What did you think I was going to do? Not respond? It's not like you were ready to stop responding... In fact, here is yet another response from you, even though you have better things to do with your time - apparently.

You don't have to engage my opinion - they're called opinions for a reason. You didn't have to engage my opinion earlier... but feigning utter stupidity when people are pretty clear what they're talking about isn't really the route to a productive dialog. My colorful language is directed at you because it's intended specifically for you, and really has nothing to do with Corel's policy or business model; but rather the lengths at which you go to misinterpret or misconstrue what I've written in plain English on these forums/in this thread.

Selling an old version when a new version is clearly RTM (and being sold to existing customers) and ready to be released to low-end consumer customers are, in 90% of cases, will not petition for a free upgrade but - in probably 20% of cases - pay extra to get the "new" version is a scam, IMHO. You don't have to like that. You don't even have to believe it. And you certainly don't have to debate about it. The logic behind that line of thinking is clear, and pretty solid, so I'm not sure why this discussion needed to happen, anyways.

I love the veiled "Why are you here?" insinuation, though.

Says the pot calling the kettle black....you keep on responding to my post, or did your turtle type those.... you get that big fat "touche" to that weak lame attempt to save face. What did you think I was going to do? Not respond?

There are those times when I do have better things to do than respond to useless things like this, but then there are times when I feel like it. So what?

You do not have to engage my opinion of your opinion. They are called opinions for a reason. But the utter stupidity is you and your lame attempt to save face because your opinion, although you are entitled to it, is wrong. Live with it. Grow up. No where have I misrepresented or misconstrue you in the least. If that were true, you would have pointed them out instead of your SJW attempt to solidify your wrong opinion. Hate having someone disagree with you? Keep shouting and name calling to deflect.

Using "IMHO" does not make you humble at all. I disagreed with you. You hate having someone disagree with your "opinions". Sorry, it's not your world. As for logic, your line is clear thinking... maybe to you, but that still does not make it right thinking. The discussion does not need to happen, but you are the one who is bringing it up again.
And yes, why are you here? As I said, if I were that dissatisfied, I'd leave.
No one from Corel hears your rants or is interested in what you think as it's plainly (and to you, painfully) obvious by their marketing strategy. So if shouting up and down and tantrumming because they, nor anyone else does not listen to you makes you feel better. Go for it. Corel still doesn't hear you or cares what your "opinion" on their marketing/sales is apparently.
Oh, and if they bought the "old" version, you have 30 days to get your money back if they want.
