I'm sorry... but you're the one who kept responding to my post, or did your cat type those... so I'm going to just give you a big fat "touche" to that weak a** attempt to save face. What did you think I was going to do? Not respond? It's not like you were ready to stop responding... In fact, here is yet another response from you, even though you have better things to do with your time - apparently.TonyP wrote:No, not trying hard at all. The new version is ONLY being offered by email to registered users of previous versions. "We" would be buying the pre release version. That is what it clearly says in the email.
It's an upgrade so you NEED to have a previous VS serial number.
And no, I am not apologetic in the least. I just disagree with your assessment of things. I do have that right to disagree, yes? Or is your view the only view acceptable. It seems that....
As for people getting 'scammed'..... that is another opinion that I will not engage in for obvious reasons.
It seems your "beef" (along with your colorful language) should be directed at Corel. I did not make their business model, and if I disagreed with something so much, I would not bother supporting it with my money or time. I personally have much more important things to do..
But that's "me".
You don't have to engage my opinion - they're called opinions for a reason. You didn't have to engage my opinion earlier... but feigning utter stupidity when people are pretty clear what they're talking about isn't really the route to a productive dialog. My colorful language is directed at you because it's intended specifically for you, and really has nothing to do with Corel's policy or business model; but rather the lengths at which you go to misinterpret or misconstrue what I've written in plain English on these forums/in this thread.
Selling an old version when a new version is clearly RTM (and being sold to existing customers) and ready to be released to low-end consumer customers are, in 90% of cases, will not petition for a free upgrade but - in probably 20% of cases - pay extra to get the "new" version is a scam, IMHO. You don't have to like that. You don't even have to believe it. And you certainly don't have to debate about it. The logic behind that line of thinking is clear, and pretty solid, so I'm not sure why this discussion needed to happen, anyways.
I love the veiled "Why are you here?" insinuation, though.
