I am trying to import one of many .VSP files into a new project. All of them are on my PC in the same folder and all of them are imported with no problem except one file. The file size is 538 MB
I get the message "These files cannot be added to this project. These files may be of unknown file format, the computer does not have enough memory of the file is copyright protected"
None of these apply and all other files in that folder are imported. I can play that particular file without any problem, so its not corrupted.
Please advise. This is not the first time this has happened to me on other projects. I end up not being able to import those "supposedly corrupted" files but I need this particular one.
Please advise,
Thank you,
Maurice

Re: Cannot import .vsp file into my project
Clarification required, a .vsp file can not possibly be 538mb, a .vsp file is just a set of instructions telling VS where all the components of your project are located on your PC, so exactly what are you trying to import

Re: Cannot import .vsp file into my project
Since a vsp file is not a video file it cannot be "played" by any program. So what do you mean by " I can play that particular file without any problem"?mau_ben wrote:I am trying to import one of many .VSP files into a new project. Or are you talking about the rendered video file you created from the VSP project file?
As RobertOz posted - we need a lot more clarification

Re: Cannot import .vsp file into my project
Hi Maurice
and welcome to the forums
If 538Mb is a typo for 538Kb then the size could indicate using VSP project files.
Inserting a project file to the timeline is known as nesting
Nesting has its limitations, it may not be possible to insert a project file that is already nested.
As you seem to be able to open the VSP, view the timeline content, are there any VSP clips on the timeline. If so then the project is already nested and that may be your problem.

Re: Cannot import .vsp file into my project
Boy I lost my heart beats an hour ago.
I'm in the final stage of a project I need to deliver shortly.
It's a one ~50 min performance and two ~4min shorts.
I edit the shorts using the long VSP so I don't have to readjust the sound or video of the original clips.
But then the client want new ending, just to change the end credits.
So I went to the "long" vsp correct it, and saved it.
But than.... the shorts wont link anymore to that vsp... even it is with the same name.
I lost my mind. how stupid of me not to save the new long as longV4 as I always do....
I guess the short vsp's save information "not realy" needed. The new long was lengthen by 5 sec but in the shorts non of that "area" was used. the sorts used up to ~48min and that not been changed.
So how I solved it???
I removed the new credits, added to my best luck the old ones (by compering the reference I sent the client last week) and the God of the Editors shade his light on me and the shorts opened correctly.
So the moral:
Keep saving different versions all the time.
Specialy if you editing using other vsp
