In Jasc PSP 9 (Still use it on my old Win 7 machine) pressing the spacebar while using the Background eraser will make the eraser fully erase for areas outside an image, releasing the spacebar will turn it back into the background eraser.
Now using PSP 2018 (PSP 9 won't work on a Win 10 machine) and find that (Space bar) facility no longer works.
I do vaguely remember back when Corel started the re-development of PSP, key attributions were changed... But what key now *temporarily* turns the background eraser into a full eraser?
Thanks
Ax

Re: Background eraser Key
After a couple of days and no answer suggested, and I'd looked at the manual a couple of times without finding the answer, I set to and during a background erase prodded a number of keys to see if I could find one that did the job, eventualling finding the Backspace key <--- which if pressed while using the Background eraser temporarily changes it to a full eraser... Finger Off the Backspace key and it's the background eraser again.
Dunno if that an official key combi or just a lucky accident on my part.

Re: Background eraser Key
Congratulations arturox. A new discovery . I checked the Keyboard map Help> Keyboard Map and nothing for Backspace on its own.
I also loooked at View > Customise > Keyboard and with Commands set at All, pressed Backspace in the Press New Shortcut Key and it declared that the key was unassigned.
So apparently even Corel do not know about this one or they have not updated the Keyboard Map.

Yes, I had checked the keyboard map, and as you note nothing..."hartpaul" I checked the Keyboard map Help> Keyboard Map and nothing for Backspace on its own.
Strange business... As I noted earlier, Jasc PSP 9 used the space bar for this action and I do vaguely remember Corel changing that early in their tenure, but to what I couldn't remember.
I guess it must have been Backspace.

Re: Background eraser Key
Out of interest I've just run the Jasc PSP 9 on my other machine and checked the key mappings...
.
The Background eraser on PSP 9 doesn't have any key mapped to it either, even though pressing the space bar during use is the temporary action modifier, so I'm guessing tool action modifiers are hard coded rather than user key mappings.
Possibly that would explain why Corel PSP 2018 has a Background eraser tool key modifier, coded to another key that we didn't know about. (Backspace).
Is there someone at Corel who'd know about this stuff?

Hmm, the backspace was used since PSP X i mean. BTW - PSP9 is still running side-by-side to X9 and 2019 (w10 64bit)...
