Edit B&W film pictures

I am trying to edit pictures taken with black and white film and digitalized. But I cannot find the necessary controls to affect the files other than to turn them lighter or darker. Does PaintShop Pro 2018 have any tools that would have an effect on black and white pictures?

Make sure your image is converted to RGB 8 bits / channel.
Image > Increase Color Depth > RGB 8 bits / channel

Then you should find that most tools work as on a normal color image except those relying on color. eg increase saturation in Hue / Saturation / Lightnes as there is no color to saturate.

The Histogram correction tool or Levels or Curves are what you need.
And switch to Complete workspace if necessary.
