I have trawled through the numerous posts regarding missing Boris FX and Titler Pro, and have tried loads of the suggestions without success.
VS 2018 Ultimate on my desktop has all the FX components, but my laptop version (different license, but same operating system) is missing Boris FX and NewBlue Titler Pro 5. NewBlue Paint effects were also missing, but I got them by copying the appropriate .vft files. Comparing folders on my desktop and laptop suggests that all the necessary files are in the right place on my laptop.
I have tried Corel Support, but they have been very quiet for several days now after some initial interest in helping me.
Yes, I have tried cleanup and re-installing, have tried renaming libraries, and have tried re-running bonus_setup - all to no avail.
Does anyone have any new ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Phil

First off, I would try resetting the program. To do so, go to C:\Users\[Your Name]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro and change the name of the 21.0 folder there to something else (like 21.0_OLD). Then restart Video Studio. It will take a few minutes for it to become usable as it is rebuilding various databases. But once it is fully open check to see if Boris and the NB filters are now available.

Hi Ken.
Yes, I've tried that. All that happens is that I lose Paint Effects and have to recopy the .vft files. Still no Boris FX or Titler Pro though.

Yes, Graffiti7.vft is in the folder, but Boris is not available in the FX list.
I have compared folders on my desktop and laptop, and the files appear to be where they should be, but Titler Pro and Boris FX are not available on the laptop.
However, the one difference I found was this -
In the Users/Phil …/Corel VideoStudio Pro(x64)/21.0 folders, there were 72 items on the laptop and 86 items on the desktop. Of particular note were the following differences in file sizes -
VS_AllMedia_HTML5.dat – Laptop 6KB, desktop 19,521KB
VS_AllMediaView.dat – Laptop 6KB, desktop 21,088KB

Re: Missing Boris FX and NewBlue Titler Pro 5
I am running windows 10 could this be a windows 7 issue
You mention running bonus_setup
I assume you mean setup_Bonus from the BonusFeatures folder
Viewing the Bonus Features folder there is a Plugins_64 folder that should contain
Graffiti_x64_for_Corel_2018.exe
and
NewBlueTitlerPro5ForCorel.exe
You could try running those files individually but it is best to run the entire pack, even so the files already exist in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2018\vft_plug
Individual install of some of these plugins may affect the licencing / activation of the plugin, I say may.
And you have renamed the 21.0 folder http://lata.me.uk/corel/reset/reset.htm
Can you try Settings – Library Manager - Reset Library, that and resetting the program usually restores missing filters, provided they exist in the installation files
The difference sizes of the “all media files” should not be an issue as far as I know includes all library entries.
so far i see no reason why they do not show?

Re: Missing Boris FX and NewBlue Titler Pro 5
Hi Trevor.
Yes, I did mean setup_Bonus.
I have also tried resetting the library, and running the installation files individually.
I don't believe it's a Windows 7 issue, as that is the operating system my desktop also runs on.
As Corel support are now ignoring me, I have downloaded a trial version of Cyberlink's Power Director.
If Power Director works out, I may just cut my losses and buy that. That would be a real shame, because I have always been a big Corel fan, using Draw and Photo-Paint for many, MANY years. Additionally, I don't like throwing money away, but the support from Corel has been disappointing to say the least, and I need something that will work on my desktop AND my laptop. At least with Power Director, I would not need two licenses.
Thanks for your help,
Phil

Re: Missing Boris FX and NewBlue Titler Pro 5
Credit where credit is due ...
After lots of nagging, Corel support escalated my problem, and today Austin (Auz) remotely sorted out Boris FX for me. We didn't bother with Titler Pro, as I don't need both (and there was a potential conflict with my new installation of PowerDirector). I have to say how impressed I was with Austin, and he even went above and beyond the call of duty and updated some drivers for me too. I also received some sound advice on upgrading my ageing laptop.
This just shows that it's worth persevering until you get the right person for the job, which Auz certainly was!
