photos have orange edit square around it?

Hi,
I guess I am on a longer learning curve this time. I was playing around with some of the editing feathers and preferences 4:3/6:9 and when I was
I go back to my pictures and now I have a orange editing square around each picture. Whereas before it was not there.
Although I am not far into the project, I would prefer to try and fix it, then begin again (though with previous versions it would not be the first time)

Hi
The play / navigation bar below the preview screen contains an icon to the far right.
A small square with an arrow this is the Scale ns Crop mode options
Click to select will show two options Scale and Crop
I suspect one of these is selected showing blue, click to deselect
The scale mode will be selected when using the overlay tracks, could be better if it were a user choice.
