Working with vectors
This is my first post on the forum. The answer to my question is probably already here somewhere and if it is, would someone please point me in the right direction to get to it? If not, here goes....I'm addicted to painting graphics on football helmets. Is there a way to paint a graphic from scratch or copy and paste one that will fit on the helmet and adapt to the contours of the helmet? Right now I'm highlighting and shading the areas to get that affect. But it takes a LONG time to do it! Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Re: Working with vectors
I don't really know the answer but suggest trying the Warp Tool! Or Try Krita. It has an excellent Warp Tool that will follow contours.

Re: Working with vectors
Can you provide separate before and after images of a helmet so that others may try their hand and see if anything better works

Re: Working with vectors
Here are the files I work with. I seriously doubt the existing decal I've attached can be manipulated to fit the contour since it has been merged into a single layer. I'm just curious if it can be fixed where it will fit "before" it is merged into a single layer.

Re: Working with vectors
Thanks for that.
I had to remove the arrows so they would not affect the results. Unfortunately I could not get a better effect than what you have shown.
I looked along the lines of Displacement Maps
Here are a couple of tutorials (using earlier versions of PSP):

You might look at these and see if they can give you some hints/

Re: Working with vectors
Thank you very much! I know it can be done in Photoshop and I wouldn't say that it can't be done in this program...I just don't know how!

Re: Working with vectors
I finally figured out how to accomplish what I posted about a couple months ago. I hope what I have learned will help someone else out. First of all, make sure the image you are wanting to fit to an image contour has been created as a alpha channel. Meaning, it is a "floating" object with a transparent layer on a transparent background. Copy and paste this image onto the image with the contour. Making sure it is still highlighted, right click on it and select "Properties." On the Blend Mode drop down, select "Hard LIght" and bingo! The image follows the contour. Now, the color may change slightly when it does that, but you can go into the "Adjust/Hue/Saturation/lightness and get it back to where it was! Hope this helps! You can also use the Blend Mode, "Overlay" as well but it was too drastic for what I needed. But it may work perfectly for something else along this line...

Thank you for following up with a solution dahayes62. Your contribution is appreciated. Others come in with a problem get given a number of solutions and then never come back to say which solution worked.

It seems some steps are missing in your explanation.dahayes62 wrote: select "Hard LIght" and bingo! The image follows the contour.
I followed your steps but don't have the expected result...
