Importing a complete folder/VS18

Post by brucefl »

I have a new project to work on. I have received pictures from email and scanned several.
So I have several subfolders in the main folder. Is it possible to import the complete
folder into vs18? Right now I have the folder in, under my projects.
I know I can import them several at a time. Possibly I am going about this the wrong way. What I want is to be able to
look in the preview screen and drag them from there, rather than having to open up the folder then drag them.
Not sure if this is possible?
thanks Bruce

Yes you can drag and drop the entire contents of a folder from MS Explorer onto the VS timeline.

Yes, I wondering if there was a way to import the contents into the program rather than the timeline so it can be viewed. I know you can create a folder, was wondering if you could do it afterwards. Thanks. Probably will have to do it the usual way :)

Hi Bruce
You are best to use windows Explorer to save / move all files into one folder, then import all clips to the library, you can create a new library page for these files.
The folder can be allocated as your working folder for the project
With all files in one place (good housekeeping) it is easy to re-link should things go astray.
I sometimes have sub-folders to separate my Video from Images

And for your next project do the same, it’s a little like creating a Smart Package

Thanks, I was just trying to avoid having pictures all over the place. It is not as bad it was in previous versions as I upgraded I had to go looking for things and re-link them :)
