plug-ins problem

Post by plane »

I recently had to re-install PSPX6 and PSPX7 and now I am having trouble loading my plug-ins again. I've been using the Preferences/File location/plug-ins method to load them as I always did. But nothing is happening. I need some advice on loading my plug-ins. ~Thanks

Are you using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of PSP? Note that if you are using the 64-bit version that only 64-bit plug-ins will appear. Most older plug-ins are 32-bit.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

There have already been a couple of threads on adding plugins. Did you read through these?

It doesn't seem to matter which one I use, 32 or 64. Now I'm off to check out those links from hartpaul.

Okay I went into my program files and pasted all my plugins into the plugin folders for X6 and X7. I also did the Preferences/File location to include those files. I now see my plugins in X6 and X7. I am happy now but did this happen because of my adding them to the correct folder in programs or because of the Preference/File location change? Or does it have to be done in both?
Thanks alot.

Because of the little information you have given us and the facet we cannot read your mind from a diatance it is difficult to provide any morte than general information.
Bit like telling a doctor I have a pain but not asaying any more.
To start with plug ins is a general name and there are many different types of pluging some require to be placed in a programs folder under Corel - these are usually those that come as an exe file and they do the process automatically.
Then there are other plugins that are placed in a folder inside Documents and then directing the PSP version to that .
At least you did mention what versions of PSP you were using (PSP X6 and X7) . Now which plugins were you having problems with ?

There are dozens of them and they are all old but still work. There is no way I could list them all here. Anyway, I have them loaded now, just wanted some info on the general way to load them on so you got the right word: General.
