Hello,
I've been using Corel VideoStudio for a while (since version 6). But there's something I can't make it to work right (or at least, as I think it would be right).
When I open an existing project I'm working with, which (in an overlay) has photos and transitions between each photo, and I need to add, say, another photo BETWEEN TWO EXISTING PHOTOS... I select the WHOLE block of photos (including it's transitions) that is located at the RIGHT of the place I need to insert the photo, and move that block a couple of centimeters to the right. Then I insert the photo I wanted, and NOW:
When I add the transition I want between the last photo on the LEFT block of photos and the new photo added, the length (duration) of the photo shortens (because of the transition duration) and I have to move by hand all the remaining photos on the right, and RE-ADD the transitions to EACH photo (on the RIGHT block) because whenever I add a transition between 2, the block on the right shortens and the existing transitions are lost.
Any way to solve this issue?
Thank you!
Inserting photos into existing project w/transitions

Re: Inserting photos into existing project w/transitions
The way to solve it is to use the top timeline - there every thing automatically moves to the right when you want to add an additional photo - then automatically moves everything back to the left after it is in - and does not leave spaces when you add transitions
I prefer to use the top track for all work only using the overlay tracks for - well 'overlays'

Re: Inserting photos into existing project w/transitions
Hi SysGod
And welcome to the forums
I must admit that I have not noticed this before although do not use the overlay tracks with multiple images as a slide show.
I do not see an easy solution, tests show odd results, I tried Grouping and that confused the issue further.
We can of course replace a clip by dragging from the library whilst holding the Ctrl key, I do not think that is what you want to do, you are adding an image.
When you drag the image to the right you can drag to overlap the adjacent clip, will add the transition, set in Preferences F6 edit tab. But then may not be the correct duration.
Working on the top track would do this automatically as the clips will shift left adding the transition/s
Dragging those to the overlay track would retain the images and transitions.
So if you have an empty top track that may help in organising the images, then drag down to reposition
I’ll keep thinking
Ok a bit of a workround
Drag the images to the right to create the gap, you will need to set the duration of the gap, same as image less transition duration.
Drag an image to Overlay 2 below the gap, duration as gap + transition
Drag image up from 2 to 1, transition is added
Worth doing if you are using a lot of images.
Using the Cue points may help
Updated
1 / Drag new image to overlay track 2 in position
2 / Select images in Overlay track 1, drag right to create gap, Drag to beginning of adjacent transition, will snap to, creates the shorter gap
3 / Drag image up from 2 to 1, transition inserted
