PSP X9 question about display

First time here, go easy on me. (Windows 7, updates have been disabled for years.) I've used Paintshop Pro X9 for a few years, really like it, no problems with it until recently.

When I open an image for editing, the border around the image in the edit window has always been an innocuous space with the file name. Suddenly, for no reason I can think of, the border now appears as a larger, brightly colored obnoxious Windows Explorer type frame. I prefer the plainer PSP program's border. I'm surprised by how much this annoys me.
I uninstalled PSP and reinstalled PSP, and the borders were back to the original PSP type. A day or two later, in the middle of an editing process, I closed one image, opened another, and the ugly Windows 7 border was back around the image.

Are you in Windowed mode or tabbed mode usually? Windowed mode has each image as its own small frame in the editor and you can have multiple images visible at the same time. Tabbed mode, however, takes up the full editor and you simply have a tab at the top to switch between the images. I never use windowed mode myself, but for me windowed mode has always had that Generic Windows 7 frame.

Menu bar > Window > Tabbed Documents. As he said, any other mode gives you Win7 windows.

Bingo! I've never used the Windowed mode until quite recently, when I used it only two or three times (inadvertently, the first time), and completely forgot about it. Until now. Many thanks to all of you.
