I’m scratching my head this morning. Trying to do some FX test shots for a project i’m developing and in particular playing around with chroma key.
All the online guidance I’ve seen says to use the Boris filter on the overlay track. However when I do that i don’t get the “customise filter option”. That option does come up if I put the filter in the main video part of the timeline so I seem to be able to achieve the effect by doing it that way and then swapping he clips around but I’m clearly doing something wrong so if anyone can help i’d be obliged.

Re: Cloning Filter Question
you need to be just a bit more clear, chroma key isn't boris (which is mainly for titles/graphic)
An image might help you be clear.

Re: Cloning Filter Question
I’m just following the only online guidelines I have found which both say use Boris. Gripps seems pretty immersed in Videostudio and his guides show using the Boris filter not the chroma key one.

Re: Cloning Filter Question
OK just watched the video - Gripps is only using Boris to cover part of the background in a plain colour - then using Videostudio to do the Chromakey
in which case does it matter how you get there - as long as the end result is what you want - I think most people would film two separate clips with a green screen covering the unwanted part of the first - or film the scene twice with the subject in the alternate position and then crop the second part putting a blank colour in the unwanted bit like this - - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIXxx4nS-Eg&t=10s

Re: Cloning Filter Question
I’ve got no experience in this area so was just following the only online guides I found which seemed to be whatI needed, but i’ll take a look at that function.

Re: Cloning Filter Question
sorry changed my answer while you were posting - in case you missed my post change here it is again
we don't have a 'cloning filter' - even what Gripps is doing is a combination of two different functions, first is the Boris Graphic FX to cover some of the background with a plain colour , then using Videostudios Chromakey function to make it invisible

Re: Cloning Filter Question
Two Chroma Key tools
1 / If you are adding a FX Chroma Key filter the options panel should show Customise Filter
If you do not see the option panel – double click the clip on the timeline. Works on both tracks
2 / Video Studio has its own Mask and Chroma Key built in, no need for FX ChromaKey
But this only works for clips on the overlay tracks, double click the clip for options – effects tab.
