PSP 2019 Crop Tool Malfunctioning

You might try this workaround:
Make a crop a little larger than what you intend to clip.
Then make a precision selection of the rectangle you want.
Then go back to the Crop tool and snap the crop to the selection.

Downloaded the trial. The hotfix does seem to work, but the crop tool is still very buggy. The crop shade area goes beyond the image borders and basically covers the entire workspace/document background. Even with the crop shade area disabled, the shade area shows when resizing the crop rectangle. The shade area disappears only when zooming. The shade is also more of a grey/white fog than a dark shade like in PSP 2018

Another issue, performance with the crop toolbar enabled, is terrible. In PSP 2018, the floating toolbar is hidden as soon as you start resizing or moving the crop rectangle, that was probably a good idea, although fixing the performance issues of the crop tool (!) would probably be better.

As you may know, we are working the next PSP version and do really spend all of our time on it. Finally, we got time to investigate this cropping issue and correct it.

It should be the other way around. Spend all your time on fixing bugs and obvious shortcomings. And then when you have time, work on the next version. Oh wait, then you will have your next version...

This hotfix is not enough to convince me to repurchase PSP 2019. Uninstalling the trial.

For my vote the last decent version of the crop tool was in PSP X6.
Load large image zoom in use the pan tool to dragthe screen so that a section near a corner is visible.
Click the crop tool - image remains as is and previous crop rectangle may show up. Clear the crop rectangle and draw a new one around a smaller item . Then drag handles to adjust. In all cases the image does not jump to the centre now rescale to show all the image on the screen
Would be good to take the coding for that and compare and corect for the future operations of the crop tool.
