Hello Dear fellow members,
A question about the Nvidia hardware acceleration.
I have an ASUS K501LX laptop which hosts Nvidia GTX950m
The problem is that my graphic card is totally unused.
During video coding Intel 5000 is active (well, in 20-30%) plus main CPU (another 30-40%) only.
Is there any trick to use the full processing power?
Have a newest nvidia drivers, running on the latest win10 home...

This issue has been discussed many a time on this forum, e.g. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=64791. In short, VS doesn't fully leverage processor power be it CPU or GPU.remmyhi wrote:Is there any trick to use the full processing power?

Nvidia Acceleration exists only for OpenCL effects when the application is running on a PC with only an Nvidia GPU (it won't run on the GTX Card in Notebooks with Intel + Nvidia GPU) and for Export (NVENC Encoding - this does work on notebooks with Intel+ Nvidia GPUs).
You have an Optimus Notebook (Intel + Nvidia GPUs), so you will only get Nvidia "Acceleration" for exports to supported formats/CODECs (like MP4/H.264).
Pinnacle Studio Ultimate, VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum, MAGIX Movie Edit Pro Plus/Premium or PowerDirector Ultra/Ultimate are better choices if you want better utilization of your system resources (i.e. Power) for video editing (before going to Pro packages).
I wonder if Corel will dedicate the developer resources to a decent under-the-hood update for VS2019. It's ripe for one, esp. considering how stupendously low prices are in the consumer market, and how other vendors are offering upgrade paths to pro editors. They need to be on point with the polish and performance of their offering in this market.
